Natürliches oder künstliches schwefelsaures Strontium wird durch Glühen mit Kohle oder organischen Stoffen in bekannter Weise reducirt. Nach dem Erkalten wird durch systematisches Auslaugen in geschlossenen Gefäfsen eine Lösung von Schwefelstrontium erhalten. Mit derselben werden die zur Gewinnung von Papierfaser geeigneten Rohstoffe (Stroh,. Pflanzenfaser und namentlich Holz), nach vorangegangener Zerkleinerung in eisernen Gefäfsen bei einer Temperatur, welche einer Dampfspannung von 6 bis 10 Atmosphären entspricht, 6 bis 8 Stunden lang erhitzt. Die dadurch aufgeschlossene und von den inkrustirenden Stoffen befreite Faser wird auf mechanischem Wege durch Siebböden und durch systematisches Auswaschen mit Wasser von der Lauge getrennt, darauf wie Papierzeug in Holländern zerschlagen, gewaschen und auf der Papiermaschine verarbeitet.Strontium, natural or artificial, is made by glowing with coal or organic substances are reduced in a known manner.
