Man wäscht nun mit Wasser neutral und trocknet bei niedriger Temperatur. Das so erhaltene Produkt ist wesentlich reiner als das auf gleiche Weise, aber ohne Zusatz von Borsäure hergestellte Leukochinizarin, was sich z. B. schon daraus ergibt, daß man beim Verschmelzen mit ρ-Toluidin Chinizaringrün in. einer um 18 Prozent höheren Ausbeute erhält. An Stelle des Aluminiums können auch andere Metalle, z. B.
