The subject of the present invention is accordingly
1) the use of plastics as a substitute for snow, with the distinctive feature,
that the plastics used are those which a) monoolefinic polymers
unsaturated hydrocarbons or monoolefinically unsaturated chlorinated hydrocarbons
are, with the proviso that more than 80% by weight of the polymers consist of units
consist of monomers whose molecular weight is above 40, b) a molecular weight

Plastics to be used are specifically the following to be said as polymers
of monoolefinically unsaturated hydrocarbons or monoolefinically unsaturated
Chlorinated hydrocarbons - more than 80 wt. Ffi of the polymers consisting of units
must consist of monomers whose molecular weight is over 40, and the polymers
in turn have a molecular weight (weight average) of 0.1-106 to 20-0106
must - the corresponding homo- and homologues, known per se, come into consideration, for example
Copolymers of styrene, vinyl chloride and vinylidene chlorideO - How yourself
has shown that homo- and copolymers of propylene are particularly suitable,
zoBo those that are obtained according to the Ziegler-Natta method0 in particular
is suitable a certain - defined above under 3) - mixture consisting of two
composed of different types of polypropylene. - The invention into consideration
upcoming polymers are known per se, well-known to the polymer chemist and
to a relatively large extent even commercial products.
What the necessary and particularly desirable physical parameters

the plastics from a solvent0 In a number of cases it is also possible
the plastics with the necessary and particularly desirable physical parameters
to be produced directly from the underlying precursors (monomers) 0 This
applies in particular to polymers of propylene; - about ffles that are caused by so-called

There is a parallel to the artificial production of a
Cover made of natural snow, for example according to one of the above under A) - designated
Methods, As has been shown, it is generally beneficial to use the plastic particles
in an intimate mixture with liquid water (weight ratio of plastic particles
: Water about 100: 10 to 100 100) to apply, for example by spraying together,
where the outside temperature can be above or below OOC0 It is also possible to
the plastic particles intimately mixed with "natural" snow (see above
under A) to apply0 Finally, the plastic particles can also be used in combination
use with the "synthetic" snow listed at the beginning under B).

Manufacture blankets that have such important sporting properties as pourability
(See powder snow, no icing, no cardboard), sliding behavior, turning behavior
the skis (i.e. easy swing) and softness (i.e. reduced risk of injury)
