undloder organischer Synthesefasern. The invention relates to a sealing material for flat gaskets,
using natural fibers, e.g. asbestos fibers, vulcanizable elastomers
as a binder and industrially produced inorganic fibers known per se
and / or synthetic organic fibers.
The best-known such materials are so-called "It sealing materials",
which essentially consist of asbestos, rubber, the vulcanization system and fillers
The manufacture of these sealing materials is done in the way. that in
Rubber solutions, fibers, fillers, vulcanizing agents, etc. incorporated and
the mixed. Dough-like mass rolled out into sheets in layers on rolling mills
All types of rubbers are used as binders. Become through them

bzw. Qualitãtsunterschiede des It-Materials nicht zu vermeiden. The asbestos also sets the temperature resistance of the sealing material
certain limits, as the asbestos fibers start to crack at a certain temperature
Change structure and lose strength Asbestos continues as a natural product
subject to certain fluctuations in its homogeneity are faults in processing
or differences in quality of the It material cannot be avoided.

industriell hergestellter anorganischer Fasern, z.

Intensive attempts to at least part of the asbestos fibers by z
B. to replace glass fibers and / or organic synthetic fibers, have after the current
State of the art has not yet led to a satisfactory result It has been shown
that such fibers are difficult to vulcanize together with asbestos fibers,
so that the It materials made from them have sufficient strength.
The reason can be seen in this. that, for example, glass fibers and synthetic fibers one
have poorly wettable surfaces and, in contrast to asbestos fibers, no capillaries
are the object of the invention. the wettability and vulcanization ability
industrially produced inorganic fibers, e.g. B. glass fibers to improve so far,
that they can be vulcanized together with asbestos fibers and that they have a sufficiently strong structure
form This is achieved according to the inventive solution in that the Mischnug
