The invention relates to signaling by means of electromagnetic waves and in particular on receivers of the electrostatic type, which through a certain training and certain types of application can be made extremely sensitive. Below are some forms of this Receiver described.
Der Erfinder hat festgestellt, daß, wenn einThe inventor has found that when a
Es bedeutet Fig. ι eine Seitenansicht eines Empfängers zur Erzeugung eines sichtbaren Zeichens.ίο thin conductive membrane or leaflet, like a gold leaf, covered with insulating material and in motion and contact is held with a different surface, the friction is changed significantly when the conductive membrane is electrically charged. Such a one. Device is in the enclosed Drawing shown. It means Fig. Ι a side view of a receiver to generate a visible character.
Fig. 2 ist ein: Grundriß dieser Vorrichtung. Figure 2 is a plan view of this device. 3 shows a side view of a modified form of an electrostatic receiver; which causes a change in a local microphone circuit.
Fig. 3 a ist ein teily?eiser senkrechter Schnitt und eine schematische Darstellung eines Verstärkers oder Relais.3 a is a partial vertical section and a schematic representation of an amplifier or relay.
As shown in Fig. 1, a wheel 146 is included a conductive surface such as B. finely polished nickel steel or platinum iridium, coated and is carried out by any suitable means at a steady rate driven. When turning around, the wheel is immersed in a bath, such as B. a vessel with lubricating oil 147, whereby the lubricant is spread over the wheel and forms a thin coating on it. A light sheet of aluminum or gold 148 rests on it the wheel (if an aluminum sheet is used, it has been found that Milk is a suitable lubricant). This gold or aluminum flake 148 is through a thread 148 * with the arm of a lifter 149 connected in a suitable manner, e.g. B. on two threads 150, is suspended and in immersing a vessel of ink 151 with the writing end on moving paper 152 runt, which is driven by pulleys or is moved in another known manner. It should be noted that the axle 153 of the wheel 146 is electrically connected by means of a brush 154 to a pole 155, which is connected to a resonant circuit, while the other pole 156 is connected to a flexible lead 157 at a suitable location of the leaflet 148 is in communication.
When operating the device, the load Pulses received from an antenna or other circuit at one of poles 155, 156 the leaflet 148 and wheel 146 through the medium of the separation membrane the lubricant through. This charge creates .an increased frictional tension between the mutually movable Divide (which is likely due in part to the increased pressure between the surfaces explains, although it appears that there are other unknown causes whose mention-

Die vermehrte Reibung dient dazu, das Blättchen 148 zu bewegen, und darum bewegt sich die Spitze des Registrier-Apparates 149 und erzeugt eine geschriebene Anzeige, wie in Fig. 2 ersichtlich.information at this point is not necessary). The increased friction serves to move the leaflet 148 and that is why the tip of the recorder moves 149 and produces a written display as shown in FIG.
Erfinder in seiner älteren Veröffentlichung. This device is sharply differentiated from the well-known electromotograph by Ed is on, in which conductive wire, for example made of palladium, is brought into contact with a conductive liquid, for example a solution of sodium carbonate, which is contained in the pores of a rotating chalk cylinder that is on sits on a metallically conductive axle. The current to be displayed flows from the metallic to the liquid conductor, since there is no dielectric in between to separate the two, as in the present invention, and creates gas which pushes the liquid away from the contact point and allows the palladium wire to be in more intimate contact with the chalk to come, which changes the friction.
The present invention also differs sharply from the earlier invention of the same inventor as described in French patent specification 401366, in which conductors that are in motion against one another are also kept in contact with one another, while there is no insulating dielectric between the movable one and the solid conductor is switched on, but rather the two conductors are either brought into metallic contact with one another, as shown in FIG. 1, or electrically through a thin layer of a conductive liquid or graphite, as shown in FIG. 3, with one another are connected. The present invention is characterized in that an insulating dielectric is inserted between the two conductors, which are in motion against each other, and that the change in friction is brought about by the change in pressure which is attributable to the electrostatic attraction and not by a change in character of surfaces rubbing against each other, as in the aforementioned Edison and inventor arrangements in his earlier publication.
In the modified form shown in Figure 3, a disc 158 is used which rotates in the horizontal plane; A mica sheet 159 rests on it, which is made as thin as possible and is covered with a gold sheet 160 over its entire surface with the exception of the edges. As in the device described above, the poles 155 and 156 are connected to the disk and the mica flake, respectively. The position of the mica flake is controlled by a fine fiber 162 which is partially wound onto a pin 161 for the purpose of adjusting the tension. The other end of the mica sheet can be connected by fine threads 164 to a plate 94 which is rotatably arranged and one end of which is immersed in a trough 97 which contains grains of coal and has electrodes 98 and 99 which are connected to a local display circuit are. Said device forms a relay, as indicated in FIG. 3 a, one pole of the battery circuit being connected to the plate 94. Thus, movements of the electrostatic leaflet i 159, 160, the plate 94 move to change their position and pressure in the trough with microphone coal and thereby change the flow in the local battery circuit and influence the telephone 7 \, as it is with such devices is the case . It goes without saying that any other form of amplifier or relay can be used in place of that which is drawn in FIG. 3a, and any other device for making the movement of the electrically charged flake 160 visible can also be used, as indicated Relay shape has proven to be extremely sensitive.
