Abstract

The closure and safety mechanism form a coherent unit whereby the safety mechanism can be coupled - e.g. engaged or stuck - as an auxiliary element (e.g. 6) with the container. No additional means, e.g. a key or opener, are required in order to operate the mechanism whereby when closing the container only one type of movement is necessary e.g. pressure or rotation. In this way the closure and safety mechanism can be used with a wide variety of container fastenings. In one design, opening the container requirs a thrust-rotation-pull combination of movements whereby a horizontal displacement of the securing element (6) releases hook-like undercuts (5).
