Teeröl, dessen besondere Einrichtung es ermöglichen soll, diesen schwerflüssigen Brennstoff durch kräftige Mahl-, Reib- und Stoßwirkungen zu zerstäuben und mit der zugeführten Verbrennungsluft innig zu mischen. Auf diesem Wege innerhalb des Mischraumes wird der Brennstoff vollkommen zerschlagen. Das in dem Mischraum so verarbeitete Gemisch von Schweröl und Luft verläßt den Brenner in einem gasförmigen Zustand und erzeugt eine gleichmäßige weiße Flamme von hoher, zur Schmelzung geeigneter Temperatur.
