Anschließend wird der gelochte Preßblock über den Dorn durch eine Matrize hindurchgepreßt. Dabei "schwimmt" sich der Dorn ein. Der Grad der Verlagerung des Dornes zur Matrize ist nicht konstant, beträgt aber im Durchschnitt ca. 10 %. Die Gründe für diese Verlagerung sind im wesentlichen in der Pressenbauart zu suchen bzw. verfahrensbedingt. Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Verfahren anzugeben, mit dem es möglich ist, nahtlose metallische Rohre erheblich präziser in ihren Abmessungen herzustellen. Diese Aufgabe wird bei einem Verfahren der eingangs erwähnten Art dadurch gelöst, daß gemäß der Erfindung das gepreßte oder warmgewalzte Rohr an einem Ende an der Mantelfläche derart abgedreht wird, daß die Bohrung zentrisch zur Mantelfläche liegt, daß das Rohr von dem abgedrehten Ende aus über einen feststehenden Dorn und eine konzentrisch zum Dorn angeordnete Führung für die Mantelfläche gezogen und dabei kontinuierlich zumindest ein Teil der Mantelfläche des Rohres geschält wird. Mit Hilfe des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens ist es nunmehr möglich, Rohre herzustellen, die eine exakt zentrisch gelagerte Bohrung aufweisen. Das abgeschälte Material kann eingespart und wieder eingeschmolzen werden. Als besonders vorteilhaft hat es sich erwiesen, die Bohrung des Rohres während des Schälvorganges geringfügig aufzuweiten.
