Description
The invention relates to a sealing cuff «made of elastic material for circumferential, with Lubricant-provided drive joints of motor vehicles that have a first collar for attachment to the Outer part of the drive joint and a second collar for attachment to the cardan shaft and consists of several interconnected annular cuff areas.
Such, for example, from the German utility model 68 09 359 known sealing sockets have the task of protecting the drive mechanisms from contamination, damage and also from the use of lubricants to protect.
It has been found that the lubricants present in the drive joint while driving be thrown out of the drive joint after a relatively short operating time and become in the Collect the sealing cuff, especially in its grooves or folds. Satisfactory lubrication of the The drive joint is no longer guaranteed after such a loss of lubricant, so that the service life of the drive joint is reduced.
The object of the invention is to design a sealing cuff of the type mentioned so that a This Au, gau>. is achieved according to the invention that the individual cuff areas each steadily increase from a minimum value on the shaft side The greatest value on the joint side increases ours Have diameter and m are arranged side by side in such a way that the largest inner The diameter of the one cuff area is smaller in each case or is equal to the smallest inner diameter of the cuff area adjacent to it on the joint side. wöbe, the increase in diameter of the cuff areas in the same direction This special design of the sealing cuff is achieved that out of the joint "Ejected lubricant inevitably again is guided to the joint so that it is always adequately lubricated.
.A drive joint is known from CH-PS 4 65 341 in which the essentially consists of only one annular cuff area existing sealing cuff on one on the outside part! of the amnebular joint provided conical metal ring is attached so that lubricant is thrown out of the joint is also brought back to the joint, "but it was not recognized that such cones marry Training - especially in the case of sealing cuffs with several cuff areas - suitable as a means is to inevitably return the lubricant to / around the joint. .
In a development of the invention are in from the US-PS 27 55 643 in a manner known per se, the individual cuff areas on the outside by any annular beads Stiffened cross-section. This has the advantageous effect that bulging oer sealing sleeve is avoided with certainty due to the centrifugal forces in this area.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the largest inner diameter of the adjoining the joint side cuffs collar portion is so dimensioned, 0 that an at least substantially continuous transition from the inner periphery of the gaiter region yields to the outer race of the drive joint. This ensures that no essential lubricant stores can form between the inner circumference of this cuff area and the face of the outer part of the joint on the cuff side.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention is in a manner known per se from DT-PS 21 23 286, the largest inner diameter of the joint-side Dimension the cuff area adjoining the collar so that the inner circumference of the cuff area something protrudes into the outer raceway of the drive joint. This measure results in the additional advantageous effect that the lubricant located in the joint is at least partially prevented from doing so will leave the joint at all.
Es zeigt F i g. 1 eine Dichtungsstulpe aus elastischem Werkstoff, bei der die Vergrößerung des Durchmessers der einzelnen Stulpenbereiche linear erfolgt undUsing two exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing the invention and advantageous embodiments of the invention are explained. It shows F i g. 1 a sealing cuff made of elastic material, in which the enlargement of the diameter of the individual cuff areas takes place linearly and
Fig.2 eine Dichtungsstulpe aus elastischem Material, bei der die Vergrößerung des Durchmessers der einzelnen Stulpenbereiche progressiv erfolgt.2 shows a sealing cuff made of elastic material, in which the diameter of the individual cuff areas is increased progressively.
A drive joint for motor vehicles is shown. This consists of the cardan shaft 6 and the actual joint 7 with the outer part 8, the inner
Outer ball contact tracks are formed in the outer part 8 and inner ball contact tracks are formed in the inner part 9. The articulated shaft 6 is connected to the inner part 9 of the joint 7. The inside of the joint is filled with lubricant so that the outer raceways and the inner raceways of the balls 11 are lubricated. To protect the joint from dirt and damage, the open side of the joint is closed by a sealing sleeve made of elastic material. This sealing cuff has a first collar 1 for attachment to the outer part 8 of the joint 7 and a second collar 2 for attachment to the articulated shaft 6. The sealing cuff consists of several interconnected annular cuff areas 3a, 3b and 3c. The individual cuff areas are each designed so that their inner diameter increases from the shaft-side collar 2 to the joint-side collar 1. The rows of cuffs that are lined up have different diameters. They are matched to one another in such a way that the largest diameter 5a, 5f>, 5c of the one cuff area is smaller than the smallest diameter of the cuff area adjacent to it. The individual cuff areas 3a, 3b. 3c are conical, that is, the enlargement of their diameter is linear. Map recognizes that with such a design of the sealing cuff, the lubricant that has entered the sealing cuff from the joint is thrown or pressed against the inner wall of the sealing cuff by the effect of centrifugal force and there from the smaller to the larger cuff diameter and ultimately onto the outer raceway of the joint 7 is transported. Because of this design of the sealing cuff, the lubricant that has entered here can no longer get stuck in grooves or folds in the sealing cuff. In the exemplary embodiment, the largest inner diameter 5c of the cuff area 3c adjoining the joint-side collar 1 is selected so that there is a stepless transition from the inner circumference of this base part to the outer raceway of the drive joint, which means that there are no significant lubricant stores in this area either can form. Notwithstanding, it is also possible to make this diameter even smaller, for example in such a way that the inner circumference of this cuff area protrudes somewhat into the outer raceway of the drive joint. The step-shaped, conical design of the sealing cuff ensures that the lubricant migrates back into the track of the joint 7 even if the sealing cuff bulges as a result of the influence of the force.
3b/3c gebildete Stulpcnsteg stabilisierend wirkt. In the case of the FIG. A drive joint of a motor vehicle shown in FIG. 2 is used a sealing sleeve which is configured somewhat differently than that according to FIG. 1. This sealing cuff also has a first collar, which is attached to the outer part 8 of the joint 7, and a second collar 2, which is attached to the actual cardan shaft 6. In contrast to the arrangement according to FIG. 1, the enlargement of the diameter of the individual cuff areas in this arrangement is not linear, but progressive. Such a design also ensures that the lubricant that has entered the sealing sleeve is conveyed back into the track of the joint 7 with the aid of centrifugal force. In the embodiment according to FIG. is the largest diameter of one cuff area, e.g. B. that of the cuff area 36, equal to the Ueinsten diameter of the cuff area adjacent to it, z. B. 3c. Similar to the arrangement according to FIG. 1, however, it is also possible in principle with this arrangement to provide shoulders between the individual cuff parts, ie to make the largest diameter of one cuff area somewhat smaller than the smallest diameter of the cuff area adjacent to it. However, it would also be possible to arrange a narrow ring of constant diameter between the individual cuff areas. The only decisive factor is that the inside diameter of the sealing sleeve does not decrease in size once in a while, which would create a trap for the lubricant. In the embodiment according to FIG. 2 it is shown that it is basically also possible to stiffen the individual cuff areas on the outside by means of annular beads 13 with any cross-section. In a sealing cuff according to F 1 g. 1, such additional stiffening will generally not be necessary because the cuff bar formed between the adjacent nursing pen areas 3a / 3b and 3b / 3c already has a stabilizing effect.
It should also be noted that the described Transport of the lubricant to the joint through the bending that occurs due to the design Walk movements are additionally supported.
The described formation of the sealing cuff has the consequence that the lubricant used is better is exploited and that it is also ensured that the drive joint is always adequately lubricated will. The service life of the drive joint is increased accordingly.
The design of the sealing cuff was explained using two exemplary embodiments. It goes without saying that all formations are included in which the inner diameter of the sealing cuff is continuous Enlarged from the shaft-side collar to the joint-side collar.
