Abstract

The folding tent is contained in a rectangular, plastic container having upper and lower shells. A canvas shape is stretched between them, as well as folding corner struts. The struts, when erected, are bowed outwards to give an igloo shape to the tent, for maximum room at waist level. Horizontal struts can be fitted after erection to stabilise the structure, while folding bunks and table complete the fitting. The folded tent is easily carried on a car roof rack and is erected in a minimum of time. The horizontal struts in the assembly can optionally be designed to be hinged to four corner curved framework rods which extend upwards from the four corner of the base member of the assembly.
