Durch diese Bespülung mit gefilierter Frischluft wird das Beschlagen der Innenseite des Sichtfensters weitgehend vermieden. Das für die Funktion der Maske erforderliche ausschließliche Einatmen durch die Nase und Ausatmen durch den Mund wird erfahrungsgemäß vom Träger nach kurzer Gewöhnung unbewußt nichtig gemacht. Wird irrtümlich durch die Nase ausgeatmet, beschlägt sich das Sichtfenster sofort, was sich als Kontrolle und Lernhilfe für richtiges Atmen erwiesen hat.
