Zusatz zum Patente 165429 vom 30. Oktober 1904.*)Addendum to patent 165429 of October 30, 1904. *)

Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 23. Juli 1909 ab. Längste Dauer: 29.Oktober 1919.Patented in the German Empire on July 23, 1909. Longest duration: October 29, 1919.

By patent 165429, cl. 8m, is a process for the reduction of indigo dyes protected, which consists in having iron powder in the presence of indigo dyes of alkaline solutions, which 10 ° Be. does not fall significantly below, allows it to act. In The same procedure is followed in the process of additional patent 171785, class 8m, however in that some of the alkali used there or all of the alkali by indigo white alkali or by alkali carbonates, Phosphates or sulfides either alone or in a mixture with indigo white alkali is replaced.

It has now been shown that if one uses the above-mentioned methods as iron powder ζ. B. ground cast chips used · - which of course from any oily impurities to be released for the time being ■ - ·, the results of the reduction under apparently the same Certain circumstances sometimes turn out to be non-uniform, which is not the case with acidic reductions observed. This inconvenience is avoided if one uses the iron - as technical iron residues that have been completely or partially reduced by hydrogen can also do this serve: - treated with an acid before use.

Beispiel.Example.

300 parts of finely ground iron castings, which can be treated with Carbon tetrachloride is freed from oil, are mixed with 1000 parts of water, and it is now sulfuric acid at 20 ° Be for so long with thorough stirring. allowed to flow in until a stronger evolution of hydrogen has occurred. The iron powder is allowed to settle and cleans by repeated washing. The iron paste thus obtained is then used in the process of the main patent 165429, class 8 m, used.
