Die Neuerungen beziehen sich auf eine Vorrichtung zum selbsttätigen Oeffnen des Messers und auf einen Mechanismus zum Geschlossenhalten der Klinge.The innovations relate to a device for automatic opening of the knife and a mechanism for keeping the blade closed.

Die Rückenfeder α ist gespalten und das abgespaltene Stück a¹ weit vorgebogen. Drückt man die Klinge b zu, so wird damit die Feder β¹ gespannt, welche die Klinge sofort wieder zurückwerfen wird, sobald man sie losläfst. Damit die aufgeklappte Klinge fest in ihrer Lage erhalten wird, ist am oberen Ende der Feder a ein Haken a² angebracht, der in einen entsprechenden Ausschnitt b¹ in der Klinge eingreift. Um das Messer zu öffnen, mufs man den Stift c nach dem hinteren Ende des Schlitzes d zu drücken, dann springt die Klinge b infolge der Spannung der Feder a¹ von selbst auf, Wobei sich der Haken a² in den Ausschnitt b¹ der Klinge einlegt und damit deren Zufallen hindert.
