Since then, certain alizarin dyes such as alizarin red, pink and orange could only be used in the Printed in a way that they are applied to goods that have been pretreated with Turkish red oil. This pretreatment causes an extraordinary increase in costs and extra work, see above that one tried to simplify the procedure through a series of proposals. Among other things, attempts were made to add Turkish red oil to the printing inks; but proved this is not practically feasible, since the lacquer formation is already in the Printing ink occurred and so prints that were faintly colored and not very true were obtained. at The addition of free acids prevented the formation of varnish in the printing ink, but the prints did not achieve the vividness of the prints on pre-oiled goods. If you set now the process of patent 226222 from formaldehyde or other aldehydes or ketones or aldehyde-like compounds with unsaturated, higher molecular weight If condensation products of the printing ink obtained from fatty acids are added, there is no formation of varnish, and the printing inks are can be kept for as long as desired; lacquer formation only occurs when the printed goods are dampened in the fiber in an outstandingly smooth manner, which is a considerable technical advance compared to the existing processes means.
The new printing process offers a simplification of the working method and a saving the important advantage of material that the yellowing of the unprinted areas, as is the case with pre-prepared Entering goods during storage is avoided.
These condensation products of patent 226222 can either. directly to the color pastes be added, or, although less advantageous, their formation can be carried out in the printing ink itself.
