Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
dienen.to serve.
A. Hartleben's Verlag, Wien 1882« angegeben. Since the production of solid wall plaster, which is to serve as a base for paint, wallpaper or painting, a well-dried wall surface made from healthy material must be assumed, but this requirement does not always apply to new structures, let alone to older buildings, However, in the event that old, damp areas infected by the masonry are to be painted or wallpapered very often occurs, the method described below aims to make it possible to apply solid plaster and thus permanent paintings even to such damaged masonry. This is done above all by eliminating the causes of the wall dampness and preventing the wall man from reaching around, both in the manner described in the brochure "The dampness of residential buildings, etc." by A. Keim. A. Hartleben's Verlag, Vienna 1882 ”. Then the wall surface, freed of all old plaster, the joints of which are chiselled out ι cm deep, is exposed to the drying air for a few days, then swept away and covered with an extremely thin (soupy) mortar from ι ! / 2 parts of cement, 3 parts of pure quartz sand and 2 parts of ground brownstone thrown on so thick that clay plates specially made for this purpose can be rubbed or rubbed on. and level the surface exactly according to the straight edge. In doing so, no more cement mortar should be used than is absolutely necessary to achieve this purpose.
The above-mentioned clay slabs are made of good, porous clay in a thickness of approx. 0.8 to 1 cm and in two different sizes for the purpose described below. Assuming that one size is 20X40 cm, the other should be 5 mm less, i.e. 19.5 ^ 39.5. In the gröfseren plates A, Fig. 1 of the drawing, ruts are cut on one side, the smaller are also ribbed on one side. After they have dried, all the plates are coated on one side with glaze and then placed in pairs with the flat, glazed surface on top of one another so that, as can be seen from Fig. 2, the smaller plate is more downwards and outwards on the left, i.e. over this the larger one comes to rest perfectly on this, whereas in the opposite places the glaze of the larger plate is exposed to about 2 cm. After the two plates have been fired, they form a single clay plate, connected by the glaze. When it is pressed against the mortar, it is pressed into the furrows α in such a way that, after drying, the plate can only be knocked off again in ruins.
The ribbed front surface offers the painting ground the largest possible surface. The way they are laid on top of one another prevents moisture from penetrating through them lower of the fabric joints that result when the panels are lined up, as these are always covered again by the part of the upper plate that remains free.
Hierauf mischt man einen ziemlich dünnflüssigen Mörtel ausis smaller than the lower one, arise in the production of the total image area and as a reason The glaze of the lower plates are now made from tow, tar, asphalt and turpentine and brownstone powder made thick putty seams and then filled them with a hot Soldering iron melted down so that they only fill half the joint depth. This melting down However, the joints only happen after the entire insulating layer has dried for up to 2 days. Then mix a fairly thin mortar
3 Mafstheilen gewaschenem Quarzsand,3 parts of washed quartz sand,
2 - Marmorsand,2 - marble sand,
2 - Aetzkalk,2 - caustic lime,
ι Mafstheil Infusorienerde undι A measure of infusor soil and
ι - Marmormehl,ι - marble powder,
With which mortar the half of the remaining free after said melting The depth of the joint is well ejected and the panel surface is cleaned smooth.
On this total layer, the ordinary or the further intended becomes otherwise Appropriate wall plastering is applied.
