Ebenso gross sind die Nachteile einer konventionellen Dichtung inbezug auf die Reguliercharakteristik. Bereits bei 1/4 Umdrehungen des Griffes ist die Hälfte der maximal möglichen Wassermenge erreicht. Das führt dazu, dass eine bestimmte Mischtemperatur nur sehr schwer zu erreichen ist.
