Abstract

Condenser base plates are formed partly or wholly of synthetic material but are provided with recesses on one or both surfaces into which an elastic plastic material such as rubber is injected or otherwise applied. The use of a single composite condenser base plate reduces fabrication work while providing a gas tight seal. The recesses in the plates are surrounded inside and outside with projecting edges, through which excess injected material may flow and which are flattened during moulding so as to form a tight seal. The transverse section of the edging may be rectuangular, semi-circular trapezoidal or triangular.
