Verfahren zur Darstellung löslicher Stärke.Process for preparing soluble starch.
L. v. Wagner, DieIt is known that starch can be converted into a soluble form by the action of mineral acids such as nitric acid or hydrochloric acid. For this purpose, the treatment with the acid must be carried out at temperatures of 100 to 120 ° (see The manufacture of potato starch by Prof. Dr. O. Saare [1897], p. 21). However, it is not possible by this process to obtain products which meet all practical requirements, since the simultaneous formation of large amounts of dextrin and glucose cannot be avoided.
By Anthon (see L. v. Wagner, The
15. Stärkefabrikation, 2. Aufl. 1 and footnote) have made experiments on the behavior of the starch to larger amounts pebble hydrofluoric acid at temperatures up to 107 0th As the author has established, the strength is hardly changed even after 11 hours of heating with this acid. The product obtained does not boil a thin liquid solution when heated with 16 times the amount of water.
It has now been made that one can arrive in a very simple manner to a soluble starch having very good properties in that is allowed to act on starch fluosilicic acid in a small amount at temperatures below 0 ioo the surprising observation. The appearance of the new product obtained in this way resembles the unchanged starch and dissolves completely in hot water to a clear liquid. The new starch has proven to be particularly valuable as a finishing agent. It is ideally suited for this purpose, as it can be used to produce very strong solutions that are still completely thin and therefore penetrate the fabric very easily during the finish.
To display the new product one proceeds z. B. in such a way that one Intimate mixture of 100 kg of potato flour with ι kg of hydrofluoric acid (specific weight 1.3) Dries at 70 to 80 ° until a sample is soluble in hot water. The reaction is finished after a few hours.
Natürlich können auch andere Stärkesorten verwendet werden.Of course, other types of starch can also be used.
