Verfahren zum Transport paraffinischer Rohöle durch LeitungenProcess for transporting paraffinic crude oils through pipelines
The invention relates to an improved method for transporting paraffinic crude oils = In particular, the invention relates an improved method of transport for paraffinic Crude oils, which are made from a mixture of a paraffinic crude oil with a high pour point and a low sulfur content and a low paraffin, low pour point crude oil along with an amount of an oil soluble ethylene vinyl fatty acid ester copolymer that are entered into the line.
Gewisse paraffinische Rohöle mit niedrigem Schwefelgehalt und hohem Stockpunkt sind für ihre schlechten Fließeigenfichaften in Leitungen bekannt und zusätzlich neigen sie bei den während des Transports auftretenden Temperaturen zur Gelbildung- Diese Neigung ist insbesondere dann unangenehm, wenn die Leitung derartige Rohöle enthaltend bei niedrigen Außentemperaturen abgeschaltet oder still- -2-Certain paraffinic crude oils with low sulfur content and high pour point are for their poor flow properties known in lines and, in addition, they tend to be exposed to the temperatures occurring during transport to gel formation - This tendency is particularly unpleasant if the line containing such crude oils is switched off or shut down at low outside temperatures- -2-

This applies in particular to the Trans Alpine Pipeline (TAP), which transports mostly paraffinic North African crude oils. The one for this line (TAP) competent supervisory authority (TAL) has regulations for decree the transport of paraffinic crude oils in order to protect the TAP against icing in European winter conditions .protect if an emergency situation occurs or a TAP shutdown is necessary according to regulations. Crude oils, which do not comply with the TAL regulations, may not be pumped into the TAP. One of the important TAL regulations relates to on the yield stress value, which is a measure of the stress or the force that is necessary to to get a par & ffinisches crude oil gel to flow. Many paraffinic crude oils and mixtures thereof with other crude oils do not have the minimum requirements

A number of methods have been proposed to address such flow problems. For example, the The pour point of paraffinic crude oils due to partial removal of the paraffin improved by means of the solvent extraction at low temperatures, the associated Effort: the recovery of the solvent, problem of Paraffin removal, provision of cooling facilities, which are essential, occurs. In recent proposed Method was the paraffin without the use of solvent by centrifuging a previously heated and carefully controlled for a centrifugation temperature 1.65-13 ° G of slowly cooled crude oil removed.
Weiter benötigt dies Verfahren notwendigerweiseAnother widely used technique is paraffinic cut Crude oils with lighter hydrocarbon fractions. This method suffers from a number of disadvantages. This is how it works Process with relatively large proportions of expensive hydrocarbons solvent to transport a relatively cheap product. Furthermore, this method necessarily needs

Availability is in some Cases are not always given. There must also be a market for these solvents at the other end of the line.
In another method, heating elements are installed at certain intervals along the line in order to heat the crude oil and thereby reduce the viscosity. The heaters used for this purpose use part of the crude oil to be transported as fuel. More than 5 % of the crude oil is necessary to supply the heater in order to reduce the crude oil viscosity to an appropriate value. According to Veiter, many lines are not equipped with such heating installations. An additional problem arises from air pollution when crude oils are burned, since it is difficult to achieve complete combustion.

Ein Bei- ■ spiel ist die Verwendung einer Wasser-lthylen-Glykolemulsion enthaltend etwa 22 % des Copolymereno Dieses Verfahren ist besonders dann anwendbar, wenn das Additiv kaltem Wetter «ausgesetzt wird, da eine ähnliche Konzentration des Copoly-■•j&eren in einem leichten Kohlenwasserstoff einen StockpunktTo produce the new crude oil blends according to the invention, the two different crude oil starting materials, for example "Amna" crude oil and "Arabian Light" crude oil, are mixed with the copolymer additive at room temperature and the mixture is preferably mixed with continuous stirring to a temperature of about 37 to 82 G heated to about 37-66 counters forming a mixture. The proportion of copolymer to be added can be varied widely. Although it is "only necessary to add an effective amount of the pour point depressant, this amount will necessarily depend on the physical properties of the crude oil feedstocks to be blended and the temperature to which the blends are heated = the higher that temperature, the less copolymer there is for the desired effect required. Usually, from about o, o1 to about o, 15 GeWc-%, preferably o, copolymer employed as o o1 9 "to about 1o wt .-% (based on the weight of the final mixture). Mixtures of useful copolymers can be used if needed. The copolymer can be added to the crude oil starting materials to be mixed directly in granular form, in a water-glycol emulsion, such as, for example, water-ethylene glycol emulsion, or in hydrocarbons, such as ζ.B 0 toluene, kerosene, Udex fractions, etc. Suitable emulsions can be obtained by dissolving the copolymer in a hydrocarbon such as kerosene, etc. and then emulsifying the hydrocarbon polymer solution with a mixture of an alkylene glycol, such as ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, etc. , Prepare water and detergents to form an oil-in-water emulsion »The emulsion produced exhibits a pour point and viscosity which are close to the pour point and viscosity of the water-glycol phase. One example is the use of a water-ethylene glycol emulsion containing about 22 % of the copolymer. This method is particularly applicable when the additive is exposed to cold weather, since a similar concentration of the copolymer in a light hydrocarbon a pour point

The special properties of "Amna" and "Arabian Light" crude oils are listed in Table 2:
Diese Ergebnisse sind in der Tabelle 3 wiedergegeben :It was observed that 0.03o wt% Elvax 25o additive was added "Amna" crude (paraffinic crude with high pour point and low sulfur content) had no significant effect on the yield stress value and that in a similar manner a mixture of 8o vol .-% "Amna" crude oil and 2o vol .-% "Arabian Light" crude shows little improvement in yield stress value. Samples of each mix were stored at room temperature. Parts of each sample were cooled to ο - 1.7 ° C. overnight at weekly intervals. If the sample became firm 9 the test was negative. The results in Table 4 show that the use of increasing amounts of additive and higher mixing temperatures result in mixtures with longer, satisfactory storage times.
