Description

The invention relates to a method of making a heterogeneous interpenetrating composite metal as a contact material for vacuum switches, in which the pores of a porous sintered structure consist of a Resistant, high-melting metal such as tungsten, rhenium or molybdenum, or an alloy of these Metals with a low-melting metal with good electrical conductivity, such as silver and copper, or a lower melting alloy of these metals are impregnated.
Um diesen Antichopping-Effekt zu erzielen, werden dem Grundkontaktwerkstoff Komponenten zugesetzt, die einen hohen Dampfdruck bei den Arbeitsbedingungen im Lichtbogen aufweisen, wodurch die Einschnürung des Lichtbogens durch die Stromkräfte (Pinch-Effekt) verminderiOn contact material ^ which is used in vacuum switches there is a requirement for extremely low gas contents and gas-emitting impurities In addition, such contact materials should have particularly low welding forces and low erosion by evaporation in the arc have a long service life and a small contact resistance to reach. The last-mentioned requirement for low contact resistance can be in the vacuum switch can easily be satisfied by the fact that the chemical and physical factors active in the atmosphere Compared to air switches, there are no substances and no foreign layers of connections on the contact surfaces between the contact metals and oxygen or sulfur. In addition, there is the requirement for a small "chopping effect" d. This means that when switching small currents, the arc does not break off, so that there are no voltage peaks caused by induction that lead to Can lead to breakdowns. About this anti-popping effect To achieve, components are added to the base contact material that have a high Vapor pressure in the working conditions in the arc, causing the constriction of the arc the current forces (pinch effect) reduce
The known contact materials made of copper or copper alloys show in particular when used Relatively high welding forces and large burn-offs in the vacuum switch.
There are known contact materials that are made of non-erosive materials, such as. B. the refractory metals tungsten and molybdenum exist, which are sintered in the form of a porous framework and the pores of which are impregnated with a metal of high electrical conductivity and high thermal conductivity. In the production of these contact materials, which are treated for degassing in a high vacuum at temperatures of 1300 to 1500 0 C, the difficulty arises when using an active component to achieve an antichopping effect, e.g. a metal with a high vapor pressure, to obtain a desired, defined content adjust.
The invention is based on the object of a method for producing the above-mentioned contact materials by circumventing the difficulties just described.
According to the invention the object is achieved in that at least one metal or an alloy is used as the diffusion metal with a higher vapor pressure than that of liquid copper as an alloy component Diffusion in a low solubility in the diffusion metal and in the impregnating metal Protective gas atmosphere is introduced into the impregnating metal located in the pores of the sintering structure, for which purpose the soaked sinter framework had already been degassed in a high vacuum, and that the diffusion temperature was so it is chosen that the impregnation metal is in the liquid phase at least after diffusion of the diffusion metal is present.
Bei Verwendung von Silber als Tränkmetall werden vorzugsweise Tempera-The diffusion of the diffusion metal in which takes place the pores of the sintered scaffold filling impregnated metal in the liquid state of the impregnation and diffusion metal, preferably at a diffusion temperature from 20 to 240 0 C above the melting temperature of infiltration metal or the forming between infiltration metal and diffusion of metal alloy. When using silver as the impregnation metal, temperatures are preferably

türen von 1000 bis 12000C und bei Verwendung von Kupfer als Tränkmetall solche zwischen 1100 und 13001C eingestelltDoors from 1000 to 1200 0 C and when using copper as impregnation metal, those between 1100 and 1300 1 C are set
At least one of the metals bismuth and cadmium are particularly suitable as the diffusion metal. Gallium, Indium, lead, tin and tellurium.
As a surprising effect has been shown in the diffusion that bismuth achieved mm in copper as the impregnating metal, which is located in the pores of a sintered molybdenum or tungsten skeleton at temperatures of 1200 0 C after about 15 minutes a penetration depth of the fifth After the diffusion treatment, the bismuth content in the copper-soaked area within the pore space of the high-melting component is practically uniform. With this method it is possible to distribute the diffusion metal with high vapor pressure in a specified desired concentration in the impregnation metal. For vacuum switches, WCuBi materials with Cu contents of 10 to 30%, preferably 10 to 15 and 15 to 25%, and MoCuBi materials with Cu contents between 15 and 45%, preferably 15 to 25 and 25 to 35% , and Bi-Gehallen between 0.2 and 2%, preferably 0.2 to 0.5 and 0.7 to 1.3%, particularly proven.
The invention is explained in more detail using two exemplary embodiments.
Beispiel 1example 1
A sintered body made of WCu 20 with 80 gW and 20 g of Cu and an addition of 0.3 to 1.0 g of Bi or Te as diffusion metal is placed in a graphite crucible with a diameter of 35 mm. Thereafter, the graphite crucible is heated to a temperature of 1100-1200 0 C. The diffusion takes place in a protective gas atmosphere made of argon or nitrogen and is completed after about 10 minutes.
Beispiel 2Example 2
In a variant of the method according to Example 1, an alloy, e.g. B. made of CuBi or CuTe can be used. A sintered body made of MoCu 15 with 60 g of Mo and about 10 g of Cu is placed in a graphite crucible with a diameter of 35 mm. As diffusion metal, 5 g pre-alloy, e.g. B. copper alloys with 4 to 12% bismuth or 4 to 12% tellurium added. The amount and concentration of the master alloy is determined so that a final concentration of 0.3 to 1% of diffusion metal is achieved. The crucible is then heated to a temperature of 1000 to 1100 ° C. The diffusion takes place under a protective gas atmosphere of argon or nitrogen and is completed after about 10 minutes.
