This safety hook for scaffolding consists ans a head with excentrischem provided α and forged from flat steel hooks b. Through the opening c of the latter, Fig. 1, the cross piece d, Fig. 2, at one end of which ring e and at the other hook / is located. In e a chain g of any length is permanently attached, which can be hung in /.

The purpose of this hook is to secure construction poles using hemp ropes or to replace iron wires and to increase the strength of the scaffolding as a whole and to give security.

The two construction rods to be fastened to each other are tightly enclosed with the chain g if possible and these are attached to a chain link in f. Before doing this, hook b is brought into the horizontal position in order to enable the head to be placed as closely as possible on the construction pole to be fastened. In order to increase the fastening of the two rods to one another, hook b is pressed down vertically, as it is shown in the drawing, and its eccentric head a is pressed firmly at h into the wooden beam / a or an iron girder. Nose i is used for the further security of the fastening by also penetrating into the wood, forming a second support point of the hook b . Hook b also serves as a support for the crossbeam k, whereby the following two advantages are achieved at the same time, namely:

a) simply placing such a beam k on b saves the work and effort that is created by attaching a horizontally lying beam;

b) the latter presses hook b downwards by virtue of its gravity, whereby its eccentric head α presses itself ever more tightly against the relevant beam, which it encircles with the chain g.
