Description
In direct relation mutually rotating, essentially over-drawing to the size of the gap opening that is being formed arranged circular knives, which is axially opposed to the distance by which during the apart directed lips with an actual cutting surface from the original circumference due to the external use and an edge formed on a radial surface borrowed the cutting point in the material feed direction point and displaced along one of their two centers. From this knowledge, in connecting line are overlapped, the lips used from the radial direction as thin as possible Abrasion-resistant material made circular knife so 60 and dimensioned so that the backward displacement of the inclined to each other and biased against each other contact surface remains limited even after are that the sharp edges of their lips are already considerably worn away in their thin lips a point on the feed side of the device. According to the invention it was also found to touch with cutting. that the optimal lip thickness for the overlap from the USA.-patent 3 387 524 is a roll measurement of the two circular knives in an important trimming device with two mutually rotating draws. Beim dargestellten Rundmesser kann die Ausnehmung 26 1,57 mm tief sein, so daß auch die axiale Länge der vom Boden der Ausnehmung ausgehenden Lippe 1,57 mm beträgt.and the lip could stick out from there; in the example shown, however, the lip is through the annular recess 26 is formed. The recess can remain open, but is used to achieve of stability and to avoid breakage with relatively soft material, for example Plastic or the like, filled out. In the case of the circular knife shown, the recess 26 can be 1.57 mm deep so that the axial length of the lip extending from the bottom of the recess is also 1.57 mm.
A voneinander getrennt.F i g. 5 shows the area of overlap between known lower and upper circular knives 15 and 17, which are pure cylindrical disks with flat radial surfaces that are parallel to one another. The drawing applies in the same way to known devices with very thick molded lips. Assuming that the circular knives 15 and 17 are inclined to one another, contact takes place at a single cutting point CP with no worn edges (Fig. 5, 6A). In FIG. 6A, the sections 16 and 18 that may wear out are shown in dotted lines. In cross-section, these sections 16 and 18 each appear essentially as triangular, so that the two circular knives ultimately form flattened truncated cones with a bevel on the end faces. 6B shows the relative position of the two circular knives after the sections 16 and 18 have worn off. Since the two circular knives 15 and 17 are axially pressed against one another, contact takes place along a line X which has moved backwards by a distance B from the original cutting point CP. In addition, the circular knives 15 and 17 are now separated from one another by the considerable value of an opening gap A at the location of the original cutting point Cf.
Investigations have shown that this large gap A at the cutting point CP and the considerable rearward displacement B from the cutting point CT to the line X affect the operation of the rotary cutter, with dust formation and undesirable irregular and torn edges of the Mavirial webs noticeable.
From Fig. 7 and 8 show how according to the invention with the same wear value as in FIG F i g. 5 and 6 the formation of a blunt circular knife is avoided. F i g. 7 shows the overlap portion according to FIG. 1 and 7A show the front overlap section on an enlarged scale in the form of a dragon square or deltoid. This deltoid is from the front cutting point 22, a rear point 24 (where there is no contact) and points 23 and 25 at the ends formed by the short diagonals.
Die axiale Tiefe dieser punktierten Bereiche ist gleich groß wie die axiale Tiefe der sich abnutzenden Abschnitte 16,18 entsprechend F i g. 6 A und 6 B.According to FIGS. 8A and 8B, the circular knives 20 and 11 have protruding lips 12 and 13, respectively. The unused circular knives according to FIG. 8A touch with their lips 12 and 13 at a single cutting point CP. The lips 12 and 13 wear out around the dotted areas 19 and 20. The axial depth of these dotted areas is the same as the axial depth of the wearing sections 16, 18 according to FIG. 6 A and 6 B.
When section L in FIG. 8A is worn, the cutting point moves back from the original cutting point CP to line X which corresponds to the small diagonal of the triangle in FIGS. 7 and 7A between points 23 and 25. In contrast to the prior art, however, if the dotted areas 19 and 20 of the lips 12 and 13 are further worn under mutual pressure, the cutting point does not move further than the small diagonal between the points 23 and 25 from the original cutting point CP 8B, the circular knives have worn by an amount equal to the sections 16 and 18 in FIGS. 6A and 6B, the opening gap A ' at the cutting point has remained significantly smaller than the opening A, and the rearward displacement B' is also large smaller than the displacement B in FIG. 6 B. Taking advantage of this knowledge, a cutting device is created that remains sharp even after considerable wear and tear. Since the side opening A 'is small and the rearward displacement B' is also small. is, are of the cutting device according to F i g. 8 B detects the individual fibers of a paper web with sufficient force and therefore not torn or crushed. If, in known devices, the point of contact X is corresponding to F i g. 5 and 6 shifted backwards due to the wear and tear that occurs up to the line connecting the two axes of rotation, the two circular knives no longer move relative to each other, as is necessary to achieve a perfect cutting effect, but they only roll against each other.
The circular knives 10 and 11 can expediently be arranged freely rotatable on their shafts so that they are driven directly by the material web to be cut. Of course, a motor drive is not excluded. In one embodiment of the invention, the thickness of the lips 12 and 13, measured in the radial direction, is 0.28 mm, the material hardness being between 53 and 58 Rockwell. These values apply to the hardest materials from which a lip of the specified thickness can be produced with a uniform material structure. In the preferred embodiment, the diameter of the upper circular knife is 20.3 cm and that of the lower circular knife 21.6 cm. The inclination angle would be 1 ° and the overlap P 0.87 mm.
Such dimensions are in no way to be understood as restrictive; On the other hand, however, they cannot be changed arbitrarily, but result from certain relationships that are explained using the following tables. In both tables the angle of incidence is ψ 1 °. According to Table 1, the diameter for the upper circular knife is 20.3 cm and for the lower circular knife 21.6 cm. According to Table II, the diameter for the lower circular knife is 20.3 cm and for the lower circular knife 26.7 cm. It must be taken into account that paper fibers have a thickness of 0.002 to 0.02 mm.
Die Lippe würde sich in Axialrichtung zuThe most favorable conditions arise when the opening A at the cutting point is kept at a minimum value. The overview shows that the larger the overlap, the smaller the opening value at the cutting point. Even a small lip thickness leads to smaller aperture values. Following the information, one could theoretically combine an overlap dimension of 1.57 mm with a lip thickness of 0.127 mm and then achieve a cutting point opening of 0.196 μ. However, such an arrangement is completely useless in practice. The lip would expand in the axial direction
Darüber hinaus würde die zum Antrieb der Rundmesser erforderliche Kraft und damit das auf die Bauteile ausgeübte Drehmoment zu groß werden.wear out quickly and would tear the paper with a large amount of overlap at the same time to lead. In addition, the force required to drive the circular knife and thus the on the torque exerted on the components becomes too great.
Demzufolge verlagert sich der Berührungspunkt von dem Schneidpunkt bis zur Linie X schneller, so daßInvestigations with circular knives of various dimensions have shown that the best balance between the cutting point opening value, the wear rate of the lip and a soft engagement between the components 22 and 13 is achieved when the lip thickness is about 1 J 3 of the overlap dimension. In addition, the compromise must also take into account the overlap in relation to the outer diameter of the circular knives. For example, if the amount of overlap is too great, the deltoid area of Figure 7A will approximate a square. This means that the diagonals 23 and 25 become larger and the diagonals 22-24 smaller. As a result, the point of contact shifts from the cutting point to the line X more quickly, so that
On the other hand, if the amount of overlap is too small, the deltoid area becomes as shown in Fig. 7A stretched. This means that the diagonal 23-25 is shortened and the diagonal 22-24 is lengthened.
B. mit Durchmessern zwischen 7,5 und 12,5 cm, oderThis results in a greater rearward displacement B ' from the point 22 to the line X and an enlarged opening / T at the cutting point 22. When using much smaller circular knives, e.g. B. with diameters between 7.5 and 12.5 cm, or
Aus einem übergroßen Uberlappungsmaß ergebenmuch larger circular knife, e.g. B. with 38 or 50 cm diameter, the shape and type of lip thickness and the amount of overlap must correspond to the specified relationships can be changed. sich außerdem Stauungen des Bahnvorschubs und unerwünschte Schabevorgänge. An interruption in the advance of the web means that the two cut sections W 1 and W z (FIGS. 1 to 3) are raised too suddenly and fall, thereby exerting undesirable forces on the web material. Scraping refers to the radial sliding process between the circular knives. Of course, a certain scraping effect is necessary for the shearing process; however, excessive wear will result in excessive wear.
This opening value is close to the lower end of the size range the paper fibers and has proven itself in practice.

Das untere Rundmesser 28 besitzt eine angeformte Lippe mit einer gehärteten Außenschicht 32 und einer weicheren Innenschicht 36.of the invention which seeks to make a lip much thinner than would normally be possible for a lip of uniform hardness. This is achieved by providing a hardened layer about 0.05 to 0.1 mm thick on the outer surface of the lip. On the circular knife 27 there is a lip with a hardened outer section 30 and a softer inner section 34. The lower circular knife 28 has an integrally formed lip with a hardened outer layer 32 and a softer inner layer 36.
According to FIG. 12, the two thin layers 30 and 32 form a very small deltoid-shaped overlap section with a small diagonal 44-46 and a large diagonal 42-48. In theory, the interface will shift back from the original cutting point 42 to line 44-46. Behind this small triangle, in the meantime, the two layers 30 and 32 wear off the softer sections 36 and 34, respectively, up to points 50 and 52 , which are located on opposite sides of the small diagonal of the larger triangle. The abrasive action which the hard layers 30 and 32 exert on the softer sections 36 and 34 leaves a concave profile as shown in FIG. 13 arise. The peripheral edge surfaces 30, 32 are, for. B. surface hardened by nitriding.
Nachfolgend sind einige bevorzugte Abmessungen für die verschiedenen Oberflächen in F i g. 11 bis 13 angegeben: Die gehärtete Tiefe der Kantenflächen 30,Below are some preferred dimensions for the various surfaces in FIG. 11 to 13 indicated: the hardened depth of the edge surfaces 30,
Die axiale Dicke der Rundmesser einschließlich der Breite der Außenflächen 30,31 is 0.1 mm as a value within an appropriate range between 0.05 and 0.38 mm; the Surfaces 34, 36 have a width in the range between 0.25 and 0.635 mm. The axial thickness of the circular knife including the width of the outer surfaces 30,
The ■ overlap is between 0.5 and 15.7 mm. This ensures that the cutting point is always in front of the connecting line of the axes of rotation in the direction of the incoming material web, which in turn ensures the relative movement and the avoidance of rolling contact between the touching surfaces.
For circular knives with the dimensions given above, an angle of inclination of 0.5 ° is required with respect to the direction of movement of the material web is preferred, so that a combined cutting angle of 1.0 ° results. In certain operations, e.g. B. when trimming, the relative angle of attack is maintained at 1.0 ° and the entire arrangement additionally with respect to the direction of movement of the material web Turned + 1.5 °. This is done in order to achieve a tangential force directed transversely to the machine, which keeps the material web taut at the edges and prevents creases from forming.
The cutting point 42 is located at the front tip of the intersection and the points 50,52 enter the upper and lower crossover point again. There is no contact at the intersection point 54 on the rear side of the deltoid-shaped surface. For the preferred dimensions of 0.5 mm surface width and 10 cm and 13.3 cm for the radii of the circular knives, the area of the deltoid-shaped overlap is approximately 1.37 mm 2 . A slight axial force pressing the circular disks against one another thus results in a relatively high pressure on the contact surface, even if it is assumed that the contact is distributed over the entire overlapping surface, which is actually not the case.
Der verbleibende Punkt 48 des Deltoides entsteht aus der Überschneidung der inneren Verlängerungen der Oberflächen 30, 32.The thin resistive surfaces 30,32 intersect in a deltoid-shaped area which, although much smaller, corresponds to the intersection of the surfaces 34,36. As shown in FIG. 13, the actual point of contact after the round disks have been ground in or somewhat worn is an approximately vertical line 44-46. The intersection point 44 is formed between the inner extension of the abrasion-resistant surface 30 on the upper circular knife and the outer \ ? extension of the abrasion-resistant surface 32 on the lower circular knife. The intersection point 46 is formed between the corresponding outer and inner extensions of the same surfaces. The remaining point 48 of the deltoid arises from the intersection of the inner extensions of the surfaces 30, 32.
Due to the angles of attack of the two circular knives 27, 28 , the radially inner parts of the two surfaces 30, 32 and the surfaces 34, 36 are worn along a curved path which is directed radially inward from the peripheral edges 30, 32 and axially away from the front side 42 extends, under the influence of the hard edges of the surfaces 30,32, which remove the relatively softer material of the surfaces 34,36. This is evident from FIG. 13, which are a section along the line AA along the line 50-52 in FIG. 12 corresponds.
As the circular knives rotate relative to one another, contact is maintained between the edge surfaces 30, 32 along the line 44-46 . Since each of the surfaces 30, 32 moves successively inwards and on or against the surface of the other component, it carries along the corresponding FIG. 13 from the slightly curved path shown on the surfaces 34, 36 material.
The radially inward side of each surface 34, 36 extends further away from the corresponding peripheral edge surface 30, 32 of the other component because the respective circular knife is in a pitch position that is away from a line 40 along the direction of movement of the material web. Accordingly, the wear contact extends on the surfaces 34,35 of the points 44,46 along the boundaries between the wear-resistant surfaces 30,32 and the surfaces 34,36 and thence inwardly to points 50, 52 at the boundary between the inner Surfaces and the recessed sections. Since the circular knives 10, 12 diverge from the point of contact in the rearward direction, the overlap area tapers from the hard surface 30 of one circular knife to the face 36 of the other circular knife until it is essentially a line contact along the line 46-52. In the same way, the hard surface 33 intersects with the end face 34 of the other circular knife, and the area of intersection tapers up to a line contact along d (line 44-50 , 36 causes the concave 1 profile on both end faces in their canted position.

F i g. 12. Diese Ebene bildet eine Tangente an beideFor the given parameters, the 20 is calculated to be kept constant. The contact is maintained along the axial gap at the outer overlap point 32 of the line 44-46 (which in the preferred embodiment is abrasion resistant surfaces 30,32 at 0.127μ, a shape about 0.1mm long), the value being considerably less than the usually line contact from there to the outside and backwards occurring thicknesses of paper fibers diverges between 0.002 (FIG. 12). If the loading and 0.02 mm. For this reason, the intersection can be made along the line 44-46 , extending point which, technically speaking, consists of a gap and a plane between the contact points of the inner not a point of contact, while the end faces and the abrasion-resistant edges the two cutting processes do not produce any dust particles that are circular knives, ie between points 50, 52 in greater than the thickness of a single paper fiber. It has Circular knife. For example, if the circular knives are found that this wear angle corresponds to the Andurch an air bellows pressed against each other and the adjustment angle is directly proportional. For a cutting either from the material web itself or through an angle of 1.0 ° and an overlap of 1.57 mm When the motor starts rotating, the outer wear angle is about 5.2 °.
