Das Glätteisen 1 wird von einem Schieber 2 getragen, der mittels des Hebels 3 von der Welle 4 aus eine schnelle Hin- und Herbewegung im Sinne der Richtung 5 erfährt. In dem Bock 6 der Maschine liegt in dem auf und ab bewegbaren Lager 7 eine Welle 8, . welche einen Bock 9 tragt. Das Lager 7 für den Bock 9 ruht auf einem Hebel 10, der durch den Trethebel 11 um seine Achse 12 zum Zwecke des Hebens und Senkens der Welle 8 bewegt werden kann. Der Bock 9 hat eine Achse 13, auf welcher die Einspannvorrichtung gelagert ist. Die Einspannvorrichtung besteht aus einer Platte 14 mit einer Spindel 15, auf welcher die Einspannkloben 16 sitzen. Die Spindel wird bewegt durch eine Handkurbel 17. Das Werkstück 18 wird zwischen die Kloben 16 gespannt und dann unter das eine kurze Hin- und Herbewegung machende Glättwerkzeug 1 gebracht. Der Bock 9 wird nun mit der Hand in Richtung 19 und, die Einspannvorrichtung in Richtung 20 bewegt, und dabei wird durch Treten auf den Hebel 11 der Bock 9 mit dem Werkstück 18 in Richtung 21 gegen das Glättwerkzeug gedrückt, so daß bei der Vor- und Rückbewegung und auch bei dem Schwenken des Werkstückes um die Welle 13 des Bockes 9 eine allseitige Bearbeitung des vorderen Oberlederteiles möglich ist. Natürlich kann die Bewegung des Bockes 9 um die Welle 8 sowie das Schwenken der Einspannvorrichtung auch mechanisch durchgeführt werden. 22 sind Anschläge zur Begrenzung der Bewegung des Bockes 9, der auch zu einer geradlinigen Hin- und Herbewegung eingerichtet werden kann.Figure 4 is a top view of the machine.
