Abstract

The membrane pump (1) has a working membrane (3) oscillating between a lower and an upper dead center position, and a pump chamber (7) defined between the membrane and a concavely curved wall (6). The pump membrane has an inner and an outer annular zone (8,9) which are deformable during the pump movements. Between these sections is a stiffened section which does not deform during the pump's movements. The membrane in its non-deformed state is stiffened by radially orientated support ribs (10) which are spaced apart in the circumferential direction and located on the membrane underside furthest from the chamber wall.

Claims (7)
