Abstract

The dog toilet area (8) is a shallow metal pan with rounded corners, 1500 mm long and 700 mm broad, with an upturned rim 150 mm high. A drain for the urine leads to the street drainage system. The box (1) is 1000 mm tall, with a square base, 700x700 mm. The box contains a standard industrial suction unit, with a flexible hose (5) with a nozzle on the end. The top part of the box (2) has a slot for a coin (4) and a change dispenser (3). A timer ensures that the suction device runs for 2 to 3 minutes after a coin has been inserted in the slot. There is a hook (6) on the side to accommodate the hose when not in use. A panel (7) on the front of the box acts as a tree against which the dog can urinate.

Dog poop bag toilet description

The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner-based, mobile, freely stationable sidewalk dog toilet in the form of a round or rectangular industrial vacuum cleaner with a hygienically disposable collection bag, an integrated coin slot device and, optionally, with a voucher dispensing device, as well as an attached, spacious, dog-friendly excrement deposit area and a urinal post.

The invention is based, firstly , on a portable industrial vacuum cleaner (Fig.l) in the approx.

Dimensions of 1000 mm high and 700 x 700 mm wide, with special devices which ensure that the vacuum cleaner is switched on by means of a coin slot and, optionally, simultaneously issues a receipt for the use of the machine and switches the vacuum cleaner off again after approx. 2 to 3 minutes by means of a timer,

Using the dog excrement suction toilet is extremely easy for any dog owner. The owner teaches the dog to walk onto the tub and relieve itself there. Depending on the public's wishes (e.g. BSR), the owner puts a 20 or 50 cent piece into the coin slot of the suction device, takes the suction hose from the holder provided and uses it to suck up the dog excrement. The inside of the excrement suction hose is smooth for optimal fecal transport.

This form of disposal is very clean, comfortable, unobtrusive and quick, and is also very user-friendly even for the physically disabled, wheelchair users, frail people and children from around 8 years of age.

The disposal of the dog excrement collected (absorbed) in a special collection bag is carried out by the operating company in the form of the filled bag being removed, tied up and disposed of as hazardous waste.

The location of the vacuum cleaner must be as close as possible to a light pole in order to easily ensure the necessary power supply.

The power consumption will be very low, as the vacuum cleaner will be switched on for a maximum of two to three minutes using a timer, similar to petrol station vacuum cleaners. This time will be enough to vacuum up the existing dog poop. The amount of waste to be disposed of naturally depends on the size of the vacuum cleaner. The above-mentioned device size corresponds to a quantity of around 150 liters. Higher volume devices without oversized dimensions can be used. Almost all of these devices operate in the decibel range of only around 63 dB.

According to patent research , the state of the art in Europe includes dog excrement disposal solutions that are divided into two main categories in terms of form and handling: "handheld devices" and "fixed space constructions". The handheld devices category includes the completely misnamed so-called "mobile" dog toilets in the form of bag dispensers. Dog owners are supposed to dispose of their dog's poop using the plastic bags that can be removed from these metal boxes attached to a foundation. DE 100 35 524 A 1 describes a type of folding box that can be used to pick up the poop when unfolded, like an excavator shovel. DE 39 18745 A 1 describes a device that is pressed onto a poop and thereby squeezes the poop into individual chambers, making it transportable and disposable, and the device is also disposed of.

From DE 298 09 401 Ul an invention is known which consists of a telescopic holding device in which a dog excrement collection bag is attached, which is held under the dog's excrement by means of a telescopic rod at the time of pressing.

In the area of fixed space constructions, a construction known as an "open-air dog toilet" is known from DE 3602 184 A 1 , which is fixed in place and functions by means of public inlet and outlet connections. A dog toilet is known from EP 0 760 596Bl, DE 696 05 162 T 2 , which is fixed in place and connected to the public sewage network. Two dog toilet constructions in a fixed construction and fixed in place are known from AT 004 647 UI and AT 001 417 U 1, which are coupled to an underground waste tank and require a public fresh water connection. A dog toilet is known from DE 299 20 565 Ul, which is housed either in a booth the size of an advertising billboard or in an advertising column and is connected by means of a conveyor belt in connection with a waste collection container suitable for biogas production, for the purpose of generating energy, and a Fragrance sprayer is operated. The last five inventions have the disadvantages that 1. they can only be installed in very few places in a city due to the large construction methods, 2. they therefore only provide a low disposal capacity, 3. and are far too expensive for municipalities due to the high costs involved in the extensive earthworks and piping work. The same applies to all similar constructions that do not take into account the positive aspects of public space that are essential to costs and necessary. The available public space in relation to sidewalks must not be disproportionately built up, should not be burdened with additional large construction financing, should not pose any hygiene problems and should be flexible in use. The DE 29920565 Ul construction also has a negative, by no means city-compatible oversize, which is also coupled with a biogas development technology for the purpose of energy generation that is more or less prone to repairs and in any case requires constant maintenance, which also harbors or can harbor risks. High development and maintenance costs are to be expected to a degree that municipalities cannot afford.

Compared to the inventions mentioned above, the dog waste suction toilet has the advantages of being inexpensive to purchase, maintain, clean and dispose of, high-quality hygiene and permanent availability in the smallest possible urban space, especially on narrow sidewalks. In addition, such a system is noise-friendly because it is not constantly in use.

Each municipality can decide for itself how many cents should be paid for using the device. It is also possible to use the optional voucher issue to use a waste disposal incentive model under municipal law, such that dog owners who act correctly are reimbursed the equivalent of the vouchers drawn, for example at the end of the year. It is also possible to reduce the dog tax by the equivalent of the vouchers. A change in mentality towards self-cleaning is very likely in the medium term (6 months to 1 1/2 years) after the device has been installed. The municipal savings in this area would reach six-figure amounts in the long term.
