The invention relates to a hair clip, in particular a hair clip that has an elastic element that acts like a spring clip.

State of the art

Conventional hair clips are mostly designed in such a way that the hair clip has two clamping jaws, between which an elastic element is arranged, so that the two clamping jaws bind hair by means of the elastic force of the elastic element. The elastic element is usually a metal torsion spring, which after a period of time will oxidize and rust, affecting the aesthetic appeal and shortening the service life.

In order to eliminate the shortcomings of the conventional hair clips, the US patents with the file numbers US20090277469 , US20080149129 and US9232841 Hair clips have been proposed, each provided with an arcuate elastic member. As in 10 and 11 1, the conventional hair clip has two clamping jaws 1' and an elastic element 2', teeth 11' being provided in the lower area of the respective clamping jaw 1' and a pressing part 12' being provided in the upper area thereof. An opening 121' is arranged on the pressing part 12'. A bracket 13' is rotatably mounted on the inside of the clamping jaw 1'. A notch 14' is arranged in the lower region of the opening 121'.

The elastic element 2' is a disk in the shape of an arc of a circle, which has a cross-section which is larger than a semicircle. An opening 21' is provided in the lower area of the elastic element 2'. Furthermore, the elastic element 2' has two end parts 21'. The elastic element 2' is designed such that the elastic element 2' can be pushed through the opening 121' and the two end parts 22' can be expanded in such a way that the two end parts 22' each engage in the notch 14' and at a distance D1 can be positioned from each other.

The hair clip is spread open by pressing the pressing part 12'. The elastic element 2' moves with the upward displacement of the teeth 11' of the clamping jaws 1' in such a way that the two end parts 22' are widened. Starting from the original distance D1 between the two end parts 22', the two pressing parts 12' can be moved by pressing so far that the two pressing parts 12' support one another and the greatest distance D2 between the two pressing parts 12' is reached. Hair can be bound by means of the elastic restoring force of the elastic element 2'.

The greater the distance D2 becomes, the greater the elastic restoring force becomes, so that the hair remains firmly bound. However, the two end parts 22' of the elastic member 2' are limited by the rotating angle of the two jaws 1' and the restriction due to supporting the pressing parts 12' so that the clipping force of the hair clip becomes weaker with a lack of the distance D2 of the elastic member 2' becomes.

In conventional hair clips of the type mentioned above, the distance between the end parts 22' of the elastic element 2' combined with the two clamping jaws 1' can be greater than D1, so that the distance between the end parts 22' of the elastic element 2' is greater than D2 when the two clamping jaws 1' are spread apart to such an extent that the two pressing parts 12' are supported against one another and the greatest angle between the two clamping jaws 1' is reached. Thus, a larger elastic restoring force is obtained and a larger clamping force is obtained. In such conventional hair clips, the distance between the end parts 22' of the elastic member 2' is kept larger than D1 while the hair clip is tying hairs. After a certain time, this leads to fatigue of the elastic element 2' and thereby to a reduction in the clamping force.

The object of the invention is to provide a hair clip which has a greater elastic clamping force and a longer service life of the elastic element.

Technical solution

According to the invention, this object is achieved by a hair clip having the features of claim 1 . Advantageous configurations are the subject matter of the dependent claims.

The invention provides a hair clip comprising two jaws and an elastic member. The two jaws are arranged symmetrically to each other. A toothing is provided in the lower area of the respective clamping jaw and a pressing part is provided in the upper area thereof. A bracket is arranged on the clamping jaw, by means of which the two clamping jaws are rotatably connected to one another. An opening is arranged on the pressing part, over which a pressing edge is arranged. On the outside of the jaw, namely at a point corresponding to the lower region of the opening, a closure part is arranged, which has a first notch facing the opening and a second notch facing away from the opening. The elastic element is designed as an arc-shaped disc and has an opening in the lower area, on both sides of which an end part is provided, so that the elastic element is inserted into the openings of the two clamping jaws in such a way that the two end parts each fit into the first notches of the two clamping jaws engage. When the clamping jaws are spread open, the pressing edges press the elastic element in such a way that the two end parts of the elastic element engage in the second notches of the two clamping jaws. The elastic element, in cooperation with the two clamping jaws, can contract to such an angle that the elastic element detaches itself from the second notches when the second notches can no longer abut the end parts of the elastic element. The two end parts of the elastic element are slidable so that they engage in the first notches of the two jaws.

In one embodiment of the hair clip according to the invention, the first notch has a first stop edge and a first guiding slope, the first stopping edge facing the opening and the first guiding slope facing away from the opening and tending towards the second notch.

In one embodiment of the hair clip according to the invention, the second notch has a second stop edge that faces the opening, a second guide slope that inclines toward the second notch being arranged between the first guide slope and the second stop edge.

It is possible to press the two pressing parts toward each other so that the pressing edges press the upper ends of the elastic member so that the upper ends of the elastic member slide down. At this time, the two end parts of the elastic member are expanded outward under an external force stress and are displaced into the second notches, thereby generating a larger elastic restoring force for tying hair, so that the hair is held in the tied state better. If the hair clip is not used or if fewer hairs are tied, the two toothings can be rotated and displaced downwards and the end parts of the elastic element can be displaced and positioned in the first notches due to the elastic restoring force. This results in a smaller distance between the two end parts of the elastic member, whereby the elastic member does not fatigue easily. Thus, the life of the elastic element and the hair clip is extended.

Detailed Description of Preferred Embodiments

In the following, objects, features and advantages of the present invention will be explained in more detail based on the detailed description of exemplary embodiments and the attached drawings. However, the invention is not limited to the description of these exemplary embodiments and their representation in the accompanying drawings.

In 1 until 3 a first exemplary embodiment of a hair clip according to the invention is shown, which comprises two clamping jaws 1 and an elastic element 2 . The two jaws 1 are arranged symmetrically to each other. In the lower area of the respective clamping jaw 1 there is a toothing 11 and in the upper area thereof a pressing part 12 is provided. A bracket 13 is arranged on the clamping jaw 1, by means of which the two clamping jaws 1 are rotatably connected to one another. An opening 121 is arranged on the pressing part 12, over which a pressing edge 122 is arranged.

On the outside of the clamping jaw 1, specifically at a point corresponding to the lower region of the opening 121, a closure part 14 is arranged, which has a first notch 15 facing the opening 121 and a second notch 16 facing away from the opening 121. The first notch 15 has a first stop edge 151 and a first guiding slope 152 , the first stopping edge 151 facing the opening 121 and the first guiding slope 152 facing away from the opening 121 and tending towards the second notch 16 . The second notch 16 has a second stop edge 161 which faces the opening 121 , a second guide slope 162 which inclines towards the second notch 16 being arranged between the first guide slope 152 and the second stop edge 161 .

The elastic member 2 is made of elastic plastic and is formed into an arcuate disk having a cross section substantially larger than a semicircle. The elastic element 2 has an opening 21 in the lower region, on both sides of which an end part 22 is provided. In further exemplary embodiments, the elastic element 2 can also be made from a material other than plastic.

According to the invention it is possible to insert the elastic element 2 into the openings 121 of the two clamping jaws 1 and to spread the two end parts 22 so that the two end parts 22 each engage in the first notches 15 of the two clamping jaws 1 . A distance D3 is created between the two spread end parts 22, as shown in 3 is shown. It is possible to make the both end parts 22 to be struck by the first abutting edges 151 of the first notches 15 so that the two jaws 1 are engaged with each other under the elastic force of the elastic member 2 .

As in 4 is shown, the pressing parts 12 of the jaws 1 can be pressed in such a way that the two pressing parts 12 approach each other and the two toothings 11 are rotated upwards and spread apart. At the same time, the elastic element 2 is expanded accordingly. As soon as the pressing edges 122 of the openings 122 are supported on the upper side of the elastic element 2, there is a distance D4 between the two end parts 22.

As in 5 1, it is possible to operate the two pressing parts 12 to approach each other so that the pressing edges 122 press the upper end of the elastic member 2, thereby causing it to slide downward. The two end parts 22 are expanded outwards under force and pushed into the second notches 16, with the second stop edges 161 being moved accordingly in the direction in which the end parts 22 of the elastic element 2 engage, so that the end parts 22 are separated from the two stop edges 161 can be attached and fixed. At this time, the first guide slopes 152 and the second guide slopes 162 allow the two end parts 22 to slide freely, so that the two end parts 22 can be moved to be at a distance D5 greater than the distance D4. The fact that the two end parts 22 of the elastic element 2 abut against the first notches 15 results in a clamping force, by means of which a few hairs can also be tied in a stable manner. In addition, with the hair clip of the present invention, it is possible to keep the distance between the end portions 22 of the elastic member 2 small, so that the elastic member 2 does not tire easily.

The jaw 1 of the hair clip according to the invention can be realized in various designs. In the second embodiment 8th and the third embodiment 9 the hair clip according to the invention is designed, as in the first exemplary embodiment, in such a way that the closure part 14 and the elastic element 2 can be connected to one another in order to achieve the desired advantages of the hair clip according to the invention.

It can be summarized from the above description that an automatic adjustment of the clamping force, a better clamping force and a reduction in the fatigue of the elastic element can be achieved with the hair clip according to the invention.

Although the present invention has been described in detail using exemplary embodiments, it is self-evident for the person skilled in the art that the invention is not limited to these exemplary embodiments, but rather that modifications are possible in such a way that individual features are omitted or other types of combinations of features can be implemented as long as you do not depart from the scope of the appended claims.
