Description
The invention relates to an applicator for 2-component adhesive and a set for dosing and stabilizing elements to be bonded during the drying time of 2-component adhesive.
On the one hand, this is intended to solve the problem of precise dosing and the short shelf life of 2-component adhesives, which arises when the two components, binder and hardener, are to be precisely mixed with one another using a double syringe or from two different tubes and then applied to the Glue should be applied. The double syringe is never 100% airtight, so it hardens even when the packaging is closed. This can be epoxy resin, polyurethane or methyl methacrylate.
such as polyaddition, polycondensation and chain polymerisation. (from Wikipedia https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zweikomponenkleber).
Usually, the 2-component adhesive is first applied with a double syringe, then mixed in a mold with a spatula and then applied to the surfaces to be bonded with a spatula. A mixing nozzle can also be attached once to the double syringe in order to mix the binder and hardener components with one another during application. Both methods are expensive and lead to the unnecessary discarding of adhesive, either through residue remaining in the mixing nozzle or through possible overdosing when using without a mixing nozzle. In addition, there are unnecessary costs and a lot of plastic waste due to the components of the double syringe and double syringe that can only be used once. Another problem is that the hardener or other reactive component in the tube or syringe will harden on its own when exposed to air. This happens, for example, after the first use and in the case of double syringes that have not yet been opened, also before actual use via diffusion, since the syringe can never be 100% airtight. Hence the usual shelf life of approx. 12 months. Another problem arises
if two parts are to be connected or glued together permanently and resiliently using a 2-component adhesive, but they are arranged in such a way that they would move away from each other due to gravity (slip) and thus no adhesion could occur, the same applies through movement, for example in a motor vehicle immediately after bonding if the elements are not fixed sufficiently and at least during the drying time, microcracks occur which significantly reduce the stability of the bond.
Usually, attempts are made to fix these parts together with adhesive tape. However, there are various disadvantages. When attaching the adhesive tape, the parts can be moved towards each other. If the tape does not stick well to the substrate, the parts will also shift. The adhesive tape must also withstand the load for at least 10 minutes. In addition, this type of fixation can be complex if the elements are at a greater height, because then someone would have to climb up a second time and remove the adhesive tape again or the whole thing is exposed to moisture such as rain.
The invention has therefore set itself the task of using various variations to solve these disadvantages and problems of laborious mixing, warping, low shelf life, unnecessary environmental pollution and also short-term fixation during the drying period. The goal is to offer a simple way to make bonding using 2-component adhesive easier, safer and more environmentally friendly.
According to the invention, the applicator for two-component adhesive has a first component and a second component of a two-component adhesive separately from each other in one dosing capsule each, with each dosing capsule having an outlet opening provided with a closure, and with the two dosing capsules being able to be placed against one another for dispensing the first and second component and positioned with their outlet openings next to one another and the first and second component simultaneously by manual pressure can be applied to both dosing capsules.
This creates a very simple applicator for a two-component adhesive, which is particularly suitable for small dosages in the range of 0.2 to 5 ml for each of the components.
Preferably, the two dosing capsules for the first and second component are connected so that they can be folded together and, after being folded together, lie against one another on essentially flat rear sides of the dosing capsules.
The dosing capsules have a longitudinal axis from a base region to the outlet opening, with a connecting fold being arranged parallel or transverse to the longitudinal axes between the dosing capsules.
Furthermore, the dosing capsules for the first and second component can have interlocking shaped elements and/or a perforation and/or roughening on their rear sides for positioning them.
The first component, which is deposited in a dosing capsule, is a resin/binder and the second component, which is in the other dosing capsule, is a hardener.
Commercially available components for the two-component adhesive are used.
According to the invention, this is achieved by placing the adhesive components resin/binder and hardener in amounts of the typical one-off application amount, e.g. 3 ml for the respective area of application, in a dosing capsule or even a blister made only of aluminum or with a combination of aluminum and a foil or composite foil made of paper and/or plastic and/or aluminum are filled. It should be noted that the material used is airtight and does not allow any diffusion. It should also be chemically compatible with the components. This could be done with a coating, for example. The filling process could also take place under protective gas in order to avoid the inclusion of air or to prevent reactive gas from being included. The blister or the dosing capsule can also consist only of plastic. A typical quantity of light-curing resin is also filled into a blister or dosing capsule to produce a stabilization. The light-curing plastic used to produce the stabilization can be liquid or kneadable.
The material used for stabilization can also just be modeling clay, which is very adhesive and does not require light to harden.

The

After mixing the two
After the

The light-curing
