Various agents for the cosmetic and therapeutic treatment of the human body in a wide variety of administration and application forms are already known. Masks, sheets, matrices, overlays, pads, layers or similar flat shapes are particularly suitable here. These embodiments are particularly suitable for the external and extensive treatment and care of the skin and also for the treatment of extensive skin injuries or wounds. Due to the type of application, the ingredients penetrate deep into the skin and have a lasting effect, which allows the care and preventive protection of the skin to be achieved through a cosmetic treatment; the way in which active substances, nutrients and/or care substances are applied and incorporated plays an important role here. The support, protection, regulation and improvement of the moisture and fat content, in particular the so-called "Natural Moisturizing Factor" (NMF), as well as the barrier function of the skin are an important treatment element.

Furthermore, such masks also play an important role in a therapeutic context and can be used to restore, heal or alleviate functional disorders or injuries to the skin. Depending on the type and extent of the injury or functional disorder of the skin, self-healing can be promoted by supplying certain positively acting active, medicinal or active substances or by suitable supporting physical or biochemical methods.

Based on the desired treatment goal - cosmetic or therapeutic - there are very specific material and functional requirements for such compositions, especially their chemical composition and their physical or biological-chemical mode of action and functioning. In particular, the complex biochemical interactions and functions with the “skin” organ must be taken into account in external dermal treatment.

Another important aspect, apart from the biochemical requirements mentioned above, is the geometric design of the face masks. The geometric configurations are intended to enable the most precise possible adaptation to the different facial shapes in order to enable efficient treatment of the skin. A distinction is made between five different face shapes: round, square, heart-shaped, oval and diamond-shaped. Furthermore, a distinction can also be made between Eurasian, Caucasian or Asian face types.

U.S. 5,656,279 discloses a face mask that is formed in one piece. However, special geometric configurations of the face mask are not described.

Furthermore is off U.S. 2003/0190339 A1 a face mask is known which has wrinkles in the head area, slightly offset to the left and right to the connecting line of forehead, nose and chin. This fold structure serves to adjust the size of the face mask to the face to be covered.

Out EP 2371237 B1 a face mask is known, which consists of a flexible carrier material suitable for absorbing liquids, as well as a kit of parts, which contains this mask and is used for the cosmetic and/or therapeutic treatment of facial skin areas. The face mask here comprises a forehead segment, a cheek segment and a neck segment and the segments are connected to one another by perforations in such a way that it is possible to separate them from one another and thus enable adaptation to the different areas of the face, which differ depending on the shape of the face .

The disadvantage of the face masks described from this prior art is that no fully flexible adaptation to different face shapes is achieved here and that the application of the individual separated segments to the corresponding parts of the face (as in EP 2371237 B1 described) - or by the incompletely covered facial areas - can lead to the auxiliary and active ingredients being inadequately divided into individual, possibly not completely covered Face areas can diffuse, resulting in an unsatisfactory result. Further improvements in connection with the geometric configurations are therefore still desirable in order to enable an even better, more flexible adaptation to different face shapes and thus to ensure sufficient active substance and auxiliary substance diffusion into the individual skin areas on the face.

The present invention solves the above problem by providing a mesh face mask for cosmetic and pharmaceutical purposes made from a flexible/flat substrate material suitable for absorbing liquids, in particular gauze, having a viscoelastic content of 0.5-5%, the mesh Face mask soaked with an aqueous solution comprising gelatin, collagen, agar-agar or mixtures thereof, and

Anti-irritant and skin-soothing properties of collagen are another advantage for already irritated/stressed skin.

Preferably, the collagen substrate material is derived from bovine, equine and porcine collagen sources. Bovine collagen is very particularly preferred. Claims (16)
