Description

The invention is based on a label with the features specified in the preamble of claim 1. Such a label is off EP 0 977 166 A2 known. The well-known label can be reprinted by the label user and is suitable as an article security label. For this purpose, an electronic article security element, such as an acoustic magnet element, is attached to a section of the label in order to prevent the label from being removed from the goods unnoticed. It has been shown that such a security element cannot be sufficient in online mail order business, especially if a customer sends back ordered goods.

The object is achieved by a label with the features specified in claim 1. Advantageous developments are the subject of the subclaims.

The label according to the invention has a ribbon-like loop section for positive attachment to an object, in particular to a piece of jewelry or a watch. The label has a printable front portion and an end portion between which the loop portion extends. The end section can also be referred to as the loop tip. To attach to the article, the loop portion can be bent into a loop and the front portion glued to the end portion or loop tip. "Positive attachment" means that the label is not adhered to or on the item. The loop section is therefore free of adhesive. This prevents contamination of the item with glue. Rather, the loop section of its loop tip can be pushed through a hole, an eyelet or a passage of the object, for example, before the loop tip or the end section is glued to the front section. The loop section bent into a loop then runs through the passage of the object and the label hangs on the object with the loop formed from the loop section.

The front section and/or the end section contains a security film with a layer that irreversibly indicates a first opening. The loop section contains a carrier film which extends into the front section and/or into the end section and is attached to the safety film via an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer can be transparent. The security film is suitable for irreversibly indicating an initial opening of the end section glued to the front side section. For this purpose, it has an optical feature that irreversibly indicates an attempt to open it, such as detachment of the end section from the front section. If the label is to be separated from the object by detaching the end section from the front section, elements such as lettering and/or geometric patterns become visible in the layer irreversibly indicating a first opening, which are no longer visible when the two sections are placed on top of each other again disappear and cannot otherwise be made to disappear. By detaching the end section from the front section, the layer that irreversibly indicates a first opening is changed in such a way that this change can no longer be undone, so that after the front section and end section are put back on top of each other, it remains recognizable that the label has already been opened once. Security films are suitable for this, for example, which DE 10 2008 030 935 A1 or DE 10 2008 033 323 A1 are described. All known security foils, some of which are also referred to as "VOID foils", are intended to be stuck directly onto an object to be secured. Surprisingly, it has been found that security films of this type are suitable for being bonded to themselves.

The label according to the invention can also be referred to as a security label, security label or seal label. A mail order company that sells an item, e.g. B. a high-quality ring, is returned by a customer, can determine without a doubt whether the label has been removed from the returned item once, for example because the customer has already worn the ring at an event. In a further embodiment it can be provided that the carrier film extends over the entire label, in particular continuously. The carrier foil can form the printable surface of the label. In particular, the loop section can consist exclusively of the carrier film. The carrier film can be transparent. The label can have a rear side section which is connected to the front side section, in particular via a perforation line. The back section can be folded over onto the front section, in particular along the perforation line. Front section and rear section can be the same in shape and size, in particular congruent. The end portion may be smaller than the front portion and than the back portion. The end section and possibly a part of the loop section can be glued or glued in between the front section and the rear section. The back section can connect to the front section on the side opposite the loop section. This can make folding easier. The front section and the back section may contain the security film. The end section or the loop tip can consist of the carrier film and an adhesive layer, in particular transparent, arranged thereon. In particular, the security film can extend over the entire front side section and over the entire rear side section, in particular continuously. As a result, a change in the thickness of the label can be avoided in the printable region of the label, which is formed from the front side section and optionally the rear side section. A constant thickness of the portions of the label to be printed improves the printability for the label user. The perforation running along the perforation line can be cut through the carrier film and the security film and through the adhesive layer arranged between them. In particular, the perforation is cut through the entire label. This can make folding easier. Furthermore, it can be avoided that the adhesive becomes detached again by itself after folding over due to the rigidity of the foils.

In a further refinement, the security film can contain a transparent film which has an adhesive layer which irreversibly indicates first opening. This adhesive layer can be arranged on the side of the security film facing away from the carrier film. The layer irreversibly indicating a first opening can be formed as an adhesive layer which can be colored, in particular colored white. The adhesive layer, which irreversibly indicates a first opening, can thus form a good contrast when the carrier film is printed. The front side section, in particular also the rear side section, can consist of the following layers or plies arranged one on top of the other: carrier film, adhesive layer, transparent film of the security film and the adhesive layer of the security film irreversibly indicating initial opening. A portion of the irreversible tamper-indicating adhesive layer on the front panel portion may be bonded to a portion of the irreversibly tamper-indicating adhesive layer on the back panel portion. Surprisingly, it has been shown that known adhesive layers which, as part of security films, irreversibly indicate a first opening when the security film is glued directly to an object to be secured, can also fulfill their function if they are glued to themselves. Since the security film is not glued to the object to be secured, there are no adhesive residues. As a result, a simple, inexpensive and tamper-proof security label can be provided, which a label user, for example a mail order company, can simply reprint in a manner known per se.

The labels 1 according to the invention are made available to a label user on a strip of backing paper 2 . The backing paper 2 is coated in a manner known per se in order to enable the self-adhesive labels 1 to be peeled off without any problems after a front side section 3 or a rear side section 4 of the label has been printed by the label user according to his requirements. The loop section 5 forms a loop which holds the label on the piece of jewelry 20 in a form-fitting manner. The piece of jewelery 20 does not come into contact with any of the adhesive layers 9 or 12, respectively. Apart from the small end section 6 and a variable part of the loop section 5, the adhesive layer 12 of the front section 3 is glued to the adhesive layer 12 of the rear section 4. When the rear side section 4 is detached again from the front side section 3, the adhesive layers 12 are destroyed in such a way that a white/transparent triangular pattern becomes visible through the transparent layers 7, 9 and 11, which can also be seen by putting the two sections 3 and 4 back on top of each other can no longer be made to disappear.
