Current walking sticks intended for use in pairs have found their way into the leisure and sports sectors in particular. Walking sticks of this type are particularly common in the areas of trekking, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing or Nordic walking. This has led to the development of a variety of walking sticks, which are now equipped with a variety of handles to make the use of such walking sticks attractive and comfortable. A typical example of such a walking stick leads to the document WO 2006/084403 A1 , which describes a handle with many technical and ergonomic details. The handle and stick section lie on a common longitudinal axis.

The document DE 20 2013 008 351 U1 in turn describes a walking stick, the handle of which is designed to rise at an angle at least with its upper end area in the running direction and terminates at the top with a ball. The handle and the stick section are partly on a common longitudinal axis.

Users of walking sticks that are used in pairs are advised to choose the height of the walking sticks so that when holding a walking stick in a vertical position, the forearm is horizontal and forms an angle of 90° with the shoulder joint, which corresponds to the basic posture. This recommendation is conclusive, but there is still a risk that with prolonged use, i.e. after a certain time, the thumb and index finger in particular will gradually become numb or numb. The reason for this is a certain incorrect posture of the hands, because when the walking stick is in a vertical position and the forearm is in the recommended horizontal position at the same time, the hand is inevitably pushed up a little. After a certain time, this forced posture obviously has a negative effect on the radial nerve, which is equally responsible for the thumb and forefinger. This explains the numbness of the thumb and forefinger described above.

The applicant of the document DE 20 2013 008 351 U1 describes in a similar way certain incorrect postures or incorrect straining of the hands when holding the usual walking sticks and tries to remedy the problem with his suggested solution.

It is the task of the innovation to further develop a walking stick of the type mentioned above intended for use in pairs in such a way that the physical impairment just described no longer occurs or is at least reduced even after prolonged use of the walking stick. It should also be possible to create a walking stick using a hitherto customary handle and a hitherto customary stick section, which also has the advantages of the walking stick to be newly developed.

Two solutions, which are described in the characterizing part of claim 1, are proposed

Hersteller können somit neben ihren bisherigen Gehstöcken, bei denen sich der Griff und der Stockabschnitt auf einer gemeinsamen Längsachse befinden, jetzt auch Gehstöcke entsprechend den hier vorliegenden Lösungen anbieten. Der Kunde kann bei Verwendung gleicher Griffe dennoch zwischen zwei unterschiedlichen Gehstöcken entscheiden.
• Noch ein weiterer Vorteil stellt sich dann ein, wenn der Griff um eine horizontale Achse schwenkbar am Stockabschnitt angeordnet ist. Es ist durchaus denkbar, dass der Benutzer des Gehstocks mit der vom Hersteller empfohlenen Neigung des Griffs nicht einverstanden ist und lieber eine andere, ausschließlich für ihn vorteilhafte Neigung des Griffs wünscht. Dann ist es möglich, den Griff unter Schwenken um eine horizontale Achse in eine neue geneigte Lage zu bringen und in dieser Lage zu arretieren. Letzteres ist vor allen Dingen dann vorteilhaft, wenn man eine längere Zeit bergauf oder bergab geht. Während beim Bergabgehen oder beim Gehen in der Ebene ein nach vorne geneigter Griff von Vorteil ist, erweist sich ein senkrecht angeordneter Griff beim Bergaufgehen als zweckmäßig. In allen drei Fällen wirkt eine bekannte Handschlaufe, die am Griff angeordnet ist, sehr unterstützend.

In addition to their previous walking sticks, in which the handle and the stick section are located on a common longitudinal axis, manufacturers can now also offer walking sticks according to the solutions presented here. The customer can still choose between two different walking sticks when using the same handles.
• Yet another advantage arises when the grip is arranged on the pole section so that it can be pivoted about a horizontal axis. It is quite conceivable that the user of the walking stick does not agree with the inclination of the handle recommended by the manufacturer and prefers a different inclination of the handle that is exclusively advantageous for him. Then it is possible to pivot the handle around a horizontal axis to a new inclined position bring and lock in this position. The latter is particularly advantageous when you go uphill or downhill for a long time. While a forward-leaning grip is advantageous when walking downhill or on level ground, a vertically positioned grip is useful when walking uphill. In all three cases, a well-known hand strap, which is arranged on the handle, has a very supportive effect.
