Abstract

Description

The invention relates to an apron for a person to wear when consuming food and/or drinks, in particular an apron according to the preamble of claim 1.

In the U.S. Patent 5,530,968 such an apron is disclosed which is intended to protect a vehicle driver from soiling while consuming food and/or beverages. The apron has an upper portion with a cutout for attaching the apron to the wearer's neck and a lower portion for covering at least the upper body of the wearer. The neckline is smaller than the wearer's head and the apron consists of a flat plastic material (PE) with a certain material thickness, which makes it necessary to have a slit with a fastener ("slit 24" and "adhesive tape 26" in 1 ) to allow the wearer to put the apron on his neck. Furthermore, the lower area of the apron can be folded upwards to form a pocket-shaped collecting area (“lower front pocket 30”) for falling food residues (solid or liquid). To do this, however, the lower part of the apron, which is folded up, must have a concave cutout ("28" in 1 ) and its edges must be connected to the opposing edges (“32” and “34”) after folding over, namely glued or folded (see column 5, lines 26-41). Thus, the structure and application of this apron are quite complicated.

Another intricately designed apron reveals the U.S. Patent 5,220,692 .

The object of the invention is to further develop an apron for one person to wear when consuming food and/or drinks in such a way that the disadvantages mentioned above are overcome. In particular, an apron of the type mentioned at the outset is to be further developed in such a way that it is easy to produce or manufacture and reliably protects the wearer from soiling when consuming food and/or drinks. The apron should be suitable in particular for a vehicle or aircraft occupant or event participant in order to protect him from soiling when consuming food and/or drinks.

The problem is solved by an apron with the features of claim 1.

Accordingly, the apron according to the invention is characterized in that the apron is made of a foil bag, which consists of a first and second rectangular foil, the two foils being arranged in two layers and connected to one another at a lower edge and two lateral edges and at are not connected to one another at an upper edge, as a result of which an opening in the foil bag is formed, with the upper area of the apron extending from the opening of the foil bag and the two foils each having a full cutout in the upper area through which the head of the person or of the wearer can be passed through, and wherein the lower area of the apron extends from the lower edge of the foil bag and only one foil of the two foils has a prepared partial cutout in the lower area, which extends around a fold-over zone running parallel to the lower edge to the thigh area of the person or .

The apron can therefore be made with little effort from an existing foil bag or larger foil bag, whereby the neck of the wearer can be fully enclosed by cutting out a full cutout in the upper area of the apron, so that the apron can be worn by simply sticking your head through this full cutout or slip through can be brought about immediately. The apron is particularly suitable for wearers who are at greater risk of getting soiled, such as elderly or disabled people, but also drivers or other occupants who are traveling in a vehicle or aircraft and meanwhile safe and secure food and beverages /or want to consume drinks. Vehicle is also understood to mean any type of watercraft, with the invention likely to be used primarily in land vehicles. The apron according to the invention is also suitable as an advertising medium and/or as an additional accessory for customers of a restaurant, in particular a drive-in, or for passengers of an airline, or for spectators at an event.

Accordingly, the prepared partial cutout provided in the lower area of the apron is formed by three incisions (continuous or perforated), of which two incisions each run parallel to one of the lateral edges of the foil bag, in particular at a distance of 3-15 cm from the respective edge . As a result, elongated, vertically running catch pockets are also formed in the two lateral edge regions in order to catch food and/or drink residues and to drain them down into the catch pocket located at the lower end.

The collecting bags can preferably be lined with an absorbent material, such as paper kitchen towels, by inserting a filling material, in particular a liquid-absorbent filling material, on the lower edge and/or on the lateral edges between the foils.

For the dimensioning of the lower collecting bag, the folding zone or the fold area, which forms the upper edge of the lower collecting bag, preferably runs at a distance of 5-20 cm parallel to the lower edge of the foil bag. And for the dimensioning of the lower collection pocket, the two incisions running parallel to one of the side edges each have a length of 20-40 cm.

A first embodiment is based on the 1-3 described: As shown in the figures, the apron S is made from a foil bag 100, which is rectangular in shape, and from two superimposed foils 110 and 120 consists. A partial cutout 111 is formed in the lower area UB, specifically on only one of the two films, namely on the front film 110. These three incisions E2, E3 and E4 are dimensioned such that they are close to the lower edge 101 and parallel thereto forms a fold-over zone or edge K1, around which partial section 111 can be folded down (see Fig. 1 and 2 ). For example, the apron has the dimensions of a normal garbage bag, i.e. when folded it is about 70 cm wide and 110 cm long. When the partial cutout 111 is folded down or folded out like this, it has a length of about 50 cm, for example, which increases the overall length of the apron by about 50%.

The fold-over zone or edge K1 runs at a distance DA of about 5-20 cm (here about 10 cm) parallel to the lower edge 101 of the foil bag 110 (see dashed line K1 in 1 ), which forms a lower collection pocket. The collecting pockets can optionally be lined with a filling material, in particular a liquid-absorbent filling material F.

The full neckline 150 intended for the head or neck of the wearer has an elliptical shape, for example, whose edge is at a minimum distance DD of 5-10 cm from the top edge 104 and at a minimum distance DC of 10-25 cm from the respective side edge 102 , 103 runs.

The apron P can thus simply be slipped over the head of the wearer P and is immediately ready for use (see Fig. 3 ).

Therefore, the apron is particularly suitable for wearers who, due to the given circumstances (consumption while driving, flying or staying at an event), do not want to or cannot consume the food and/or drinks at a table or the like. In this sense, the apron is also suitable for patients in hospitals or residents of retirement homes or visitors to day care centers.
