Der Empfänger kann demnach den Zusteller im direkten Gespräch darum bitten, die Ware oder den Gegenstand in der Paketbox seiner Wahl sicher zuzustellen. Dafür wählt der Empfänger lediglich über sein mobiles Endgerät die entsprechende Paketbox aus, die er öffnen möchte. Wird der Öffnungsbefehl für eine beliebige Paketbox betätigt, so wird ein Relais über den Fernbefehl durch das Heimnetzwerk geschaltet und die elektromechanischen Schlösser (3) öffnen sich und die Paketboxtür (4) wird einige Zentimeter weit aufgedrückt. Über die verbaute Videokamera (12) kann der Empfänger dabei zusehen, wie sein Paket in die Paketbox zugestellt wird. Anschließend kann der Empfänger den Zusteller darum bitten, lediglich die Tür durch zudrücken zu verschließen, sodass die Tür mit den montierten Türhaken wieder einbruchssicher mit dem elektromechanischen Schloss verriegelt.
