Description

Background of the invention

The invention relates to a system with a large number of cards, all of which have an identical rear side, the entirety of the cards being subdivided into several groups of several corresponding cards each.

Such multiple card systems are known, for example, as card games. In particular, in card systems based on the pairs principle, the groups are each formed by two cards with an identical front. In the variant known as “mixed double”, the fronts of the two cards that form a group differ from one another, but refer to one another in terms of content through their respective imprints and word elements in the form of anagrams.

Furthermore, it is known in principle to counteract degenerative changes in the brain, for example in old age, by means of memory training. A wide variety of methods and systems have been proposed for this purpose.

Object of the invention

It is an object of the invention to provide a sophisticated, and thus effective, memory training system which can be easily applied.

Description of the invention

This object is achieved according to the invention by a memory training system according to claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are specified in the subclaims and the description.

According to the invention, a memory training system with a plurality of cards is provided. The cards are basically the same shape and size. Typically the maps are essentially two-dimensional. The cards can be (essentially) rectangular. Corners of the cards can be rounded. In the case of rectangular cards in particular, a long side can be at least twice, in particular at least 2.5 times, as long as a short side of the cards that is orthogonal to the long side.

The cards all have an identical back. If the cards are aligned with their back side up, they cannot be differentiated.

The totality of the cards is divided into several groups of several corresponding cards each. When using the memory training system to train the memory, the cards can be hidden, i.e. H. with the respective back facing up. The goal can then be to reveal all the cards in a group. All groups have the same number of cards. The entirety of the cards is basically completely divided between the groups. Each card belongs to exactly one group. The memory training system typically comprises at least six, in particular at least nine, groups of cards.

According to the invention, the cards each have a plurality of graphic elements on their front sides. The number of graphic elements is typically the same for all groups of cards. The cards preferably each have at least three, particularly preferably exactly three, graphic elements on their front side. A larger number of graphic elements can increase the complexity and therefore the training stimulus. In particular, given a larger number of graphic elements, the groups can comprise a larger number of cards. Each group preferably comprises at least three cards, particularly preferably exactly three cards. With groups of three cards each with three graphic elements, the user can be prevented from being overwhelmed by the training effect.

Additional elements can be present on the front in addition to the graphic elements. If additional elements are present, these are basically designed and arranged in an identical manner for all cards.

According to the invention, the same graphic elements are provided in different arrangements for cards from the same group. In other words, the cards in each of the groups have the same graphic elements; however, these graphic elements are arranged differently on the different cards in the same group. Hence, all cards, including the cards in a particular group, differ from one another. On the one hand, this increases the complexity and, on the other hand, can promote motivation to use the memory training system. The front sides of the cards in a group can in particular have permutations of the respective graphic elements. Typically, the graphic elements in all cards of a group, in particular each of the groups, are arranged at the same positions on the respective card.

According to the invention, cards of different groups differ by at least one different graphic element from each other. In other words, cards in each group each have at least one graphic element that is not present in cards in any other group. This enables the cards belonging to different groups to be differentiated.

In particular, each graphic element can only be present in the cards of a single group. In other words, the cards of different groups do not have any common graphic elements. All graphic elements of the cards of one of the groups differ from the graphic elements of one of the other groups. The ability to distinguish between the cards in different groups can thereby be improved in order to counteract excessive demands, in particular if the groups comprise a large number of cards and / or if the cards have a large number of graphic elements.

Alternatively, it can be provided that at least one of the graphic elements is provided for cards from different groups. In other words, cards from different groups can have one or, if applicable, several common graphic elements. This increases the complexity and can result in a stronger training stimulus.

The memory training system can be used, for example, to prevent or counteract degenerative changes in memory that can occur in old age. The memory training system can also be used to promote the development of memory, for example in children. Since the arrangement of the graphic elements must be recorded when using the memory training system, aspects of spatial perception can be trained. At the same time, the arrangement of the graphic elements has to be resolved in thought so that cards can either be assigned to the same group or to different groups. In this way, the ability to abstract can be trained.

By suitable selection of the type of graphic elements, different aspects of memory can be addressed and trained. Typically, all graphic elements are of the same type. However, it can be provided that different types of graphic elements are used. The graphic elements can then be of the same type within the respective groups. At least some of the graphic elements, in particular all graphic elements, are preferably colored areas. The colored areas are usually shaped in the same way, for example all rectangular. The additional element can make it difficult to perceive or differentiate between the graphic elements in order to increase the training stimulus. The additional element can define a preferred direction of the cards.

The graphic elements of the cards of at least one group, preferably all groups, can cover the entire front of the cards. This variant is particularly suitable for graphic elements in the form of colored areas or images.
