Description

The invention relates to a protective glove for protecting the human hand from contact with heated objects or fluids, in particular a protective glove for cooking and preparing food, with an enveloping body for the hand which has a first opening for inserting a hand in the enveloping body.

Protective gloves of the generic type, also known as oven gloves or oven gloves, are sufficiently known from the prior art, which cannot be documented in printed form, and are an everyday auxiliary item in the preparation of foodstuffs.

Generic cooking gloves consist of an envelope in which the end of the cook pushes his hand through an opening and can thus safely touch and move hot kitchen utensils such as baking trays, pot lids, pots. Such protective gloves are also worn when cooking with an open pot or open pan. In this way, the respective hand is protected from cooking nozzles or splashes of fat.

So-called pot holders are known from the further prior art - also not documented in printed form - which fulfill a similar function but do not completely enclose the hand.

In particular during the cooking process of food in which cooking tools or cooking utensils such as spoons, spatulas or whisks are used, there is a certain contradiction between heat protection and tool handling.

As a rule, a high level of heat protection requires a comparatively thick material of the enveloping body in order to ensure good heat resistance. On the other hand, with enveloping bodies made of comparatively solid and thick material, cooking utensils can only be gripped and operated with difficulty.

The object of the invention is therefore to create a new type of protective glove which enables good handling of the cooking utensils and other cooking utensils even with a high level of heat protection.

The invention is achieved by a protective glove with the features of claim 1, in particular with its characterizing features, according to which the enveloping body has a second opening through which a handle of a tool, in particular a cooking tool, such as a spoon or whisk can be introduced into the enveloping body.

The main advantage of the invention can be seen in the fact that it does not have to compromise between material thickness and heat protection or uses special materials for better handling of cooking utensils. With the additional opening for introducing a tool handle into the enveloping body, it creates a possibility of facilitating the handling of tools, which can be used completely independently of the type of material and material thickness.

The safety in handling the protective glove is increased in that the enveloping body is tapered in a funnel-like manner towards the second opening. The funnel-like taper creates a distance between the hand lying in the enveloping body and the second opening. If the protective glove is used without a cooking tool, this distance initially prevents cooking vapors or splashes that may penetrate through the second opening from directly impacting the hand lying inside. This position of the second opening is not only particularly advantageous for ergonomics when using the gloves, but also enables such gloves to be cleaned particularly easily and effectively from the inside, especially if they are made of plastic, for example silicone. Cleaning from the inside with water and cleaning agent is particularly easy to accomplish, excess water runs out through the second opening and, in addition, an exchange of air in the envelope is ensured, which accelerates the drying process.

Provision is also made for the enveloping body to form a connecting piece for enveloping a forearm. This significantly improves the protection of the user when cooking.

In addition, it is provided that the enveloping body is designed in the manner of a mitten, in particular if the enveloping body is designed without a single finger cover.
