Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a 3D pop-up card with light and sound effects.

3D pop-up cards, which are to be referred to simply as 3D cards in the following, have been known in various designs for a long time and essentially comprise a usually simply folded card as a base, hereinafter referred to as a card, and one in this card arranged figure. The essential function of such a 3D map is that an initially essentially two-dimensionally compressed figure rises three-dimensionally from the map plane when the folded map is opened.

Corresponding 3D cards can preferably be opened from a closed state by opening the two foldable card parts by a total of 180 degrees into a flat plane.

The underlying mechanism is based on the fact that the compressed figure is fastened in the card in such a way that when the folded card is opened, a tensile stress is applied to the figure, which transforms the figure from the compressed into the three-dimensional or expanded form.

The construction of corresponding 3D maps thus requires, on the one hand, the formation of a figure that can be converted from a compressed two-dimensional to a three-dimensional state, and on the other hand, the possibility of attaching this figure inside the map.

There are figures whose construction in a 3D map is associated with difficulties. These are figures, for example, which in themselves do not offer sufficient possibilities for attachment to the card.

So far, for example, no convincing construction is known to represent a complete sphere on a 3D map.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a construction that enables the representation of spherical figures in particular in 3D maps.

This object is achieved by an invention with the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are each subject matter of the dependent claims. It should be pointed out that the features listed individually in the claims can also be combined with one another in any desired and technologically sensible manner and thus show further embodiments of the invention.

The 3D pop-up card according to the invention comprises a foldable figure, which can be reversibly converted from a flat compressed state into a three-dimensional expanded state, and a foldable base, which can be reversibly converted from a flat compressed state into a three-dimensional expanded state, and a foldable one Card with an inside and an outside which can be reversibly converted from a folded closed state into an unfolded open state, the foldable base being fixed on the inside of the foldable card and the foldable figure being fixed on the foldable base.

An essential idea of the invention lies in the attachment of a base between the foldable card and the foldable figure. The problem with known 3D cards can be the complete and uniform unfolding of the folded figures, in particular if the figure itself is not suitable for being fixed to the two parts of the folding card. The socket solves this problem, since the socket is first fixed to the card and not the figure itself. The expansion of the figure is triggered directly by the expansion of the base.

Furthermore, the base ensures an improved development of the three-dimensional figure.

The 3D map according to the invention accordingly comprises three foldable elements, namely the actual three-dimensional figure, according to the invention these are above all spherical or ovoid figures with a circular or oval body of revolution, a base and the foldable card.

The foldable elements can each be reversibly converted or transformed from a folded or compressed state into an unfolded or expanded state. The transformation is triggered by opening or closing the foldable card.

The card (or the 3D card or 3D pop-up card) should be viewed as open when the opened card forms a flat plane, i.e. the two parts or halves of the card have been opened at an angle of 180 ° and are next to each other in lie on one level. In contrast, the card should be viewed as closed when the two parts or halves of the card are on top of each other and their insides are on top of each other.

The 3D card has an outside and an inside, the base being fixed on the inside and the base and the three-dimensional figure being located between the inside of the folded card when the card is closed.

At least part of the card is preferably provided in at least two layers, with an outer layer and an inner layer. It is also preferred that at least one half of the card is provided in two layers, the outside of the outer layer then forming the outside of the card and the inside of the inner layer forming the inside of the card. A double-layer design of the card is advantageous in order to be able to arrange the electronics, which will be described in more detail below, in a sandwich-like manner between the two layers and thus to be able to hide them.

The card also includes cutouts for possible light elements and slots for fixing the base.

The base can preferably be fixed in the slots of the card by means of snap-in elements. Alternatively, the base can also be attached directly to the inside of the card, for example by gluing the snap-in elements to the inside of the card.

The base preferably comprises a first base element and a second base element, the base elements preferably being of identical design. In the expanded configuration after the card has been opened up, the base preferably has a square plan.

The base elements preferably comprise snap-in elements which are arranged at their respective ends and which serve to fix the base to the foldable card. The base element further comprises slots and hook elements for fixing the horizontal and vertical elements of the three-dimensional figure to be described in more detail below. At the ends in front of the snap-in elements, the two base elements each include a slot for connection to the respective other base element.

The three-dimensional figure is attached to the base using various connecting elements. When the card is closed, both the three-dimensional figure and the base are converted into an essentially flat, two-dimensional shape.

The three-dimensional figure is composed of a large number of first - subsequently also horizontal - elements and a large number of second - subsequently also vertical - elements, the horizontal and vertical elements each comprising slots and thus being inserted into one another.

The number of the respective elements is not essential for the invention. It is also not essential whether the number of horizontal and vertical elements is the same and whether it is an even or odd number of elements.

In the case of spherical or ovoid figures, embodiments with an odd number of elements are preferred, since these optically give the impression of a spherical shape.

In order to create the impression that the three-dimensional figure is, for example, a snow globe, a number of the vertical and / or horizontal elements can be provided transparently and, if necessary, partially provided with a print. In such a 3D map, which is intended to imitate a snow globe, only the middle horizontal or middle vertical element is preferably not transparent and thus forms the background of the imitated snow globe.

In the expanded state, i.e. with the map open, the vertical elements and the horizontal elements are perpendicular to one another. Accordingly, the vertical elements and the horizontal elements lie flat on top of one another when the card is closed.

The horizontal and vertical elements essentially follow the shape of the expanded three-dimensional figure. In the case of a spherical figure, these elements are provided in a correspondingly circular manner; in the case of an egg-shaped figure, they are correspondingly oval or ovoid. The horizontal and vertical elements vary in size and increase in circumference from the outer elements to the inner elements.

The elements have connecting elements in the form of, for example, slots, hook elements and engagements at a plurality of positions, some of which are used to connect the vertical with the horizontal elements and some of which are used to connect the horizontal and vertical elements to the base elements. The positions are preferably arranged on parallel lines and at equal intervals and run perpendicular to the plane of the card when the card is open. When the map is opened, the horizontal and vertical elements - and accordingly the positions - are perpendicular to the map plane with an upper end and a lower end.

According to the invention, the number of positions of the vertical elements corresponds to the number of horizontal elements and vice versa, to to be able to connect every horizontal element with every vertical element and vice versa.

In a preferred embodiment, the arrangement of the connecting elements and the position of the positions are at least identical in pairs, i.e. the outermost elements of the horizontal elements are preferably identical, i.e. identical in size, shape, number and arrangement of the positions and in number , Type and arrangement of the connecting elements. Likewise, the elements that follow inwards are identical in pairs. The same goes for the vertical elements.

In addition to the three-dimensional figure, the card preferably also includes light effects and acoustic effects that are triggered by opening the card.

For this purpose, the card comprises conventional electronic elements such as a power supply, a switch, an integrated circuit for controlling the electronic elements and a number of light elements and acoustic elements. With the exception of the light and acoustic elements, the electronic elements are preferably arranged on a printed circuit board.

Preferred light elements are LEDs, whereby the LEDs can be of any color and number. Preferred acoustic elements are loudspeakers. The light and acoustic elements are intended to emit certain optical and acoustic stimuli. Batteries or rechargeable batteries are a preferred power supply.

The switch is used to activate the electronics when the 3D card is opened, in order to supplement the opening and / or the open state of the 3D card with the unfolded figure with optical and acoustic stimuli. Accordingly, all switch types as well as light or motion sensors that enable the electronics to be activated by opening the card are suitable. Corresponding switches and sensors are known to those skilled in the art.

The 3D pop-up card according to the invention has the advantage over the prior art that the 3D figure is significantly more stable due to the inventive arrangement of the slots, hook elements and interventions and is also significantly more dimensionally stable than with known ones due to the assembly of the figure on a base Folding mechanisms. As a result, the figure unfolds much more evenly and completely than with known 3D cards, so that a much nicer result can be achieved.
