Der Matratzenbezug dieser Matratze umfasst zwei prinzipiell bezüglich ihrer Geometrie gleichartig aufgebaute Bezugsteile. Jedes Bezugsteil verfügt über ein sich über die flächige Erstreckung des Matratzenkerns erstreckendes Bodenteil und eine daran angeschlossene umlaufende Seitenwand. Da sich es sich bei dem einen Bezugsteil um ein unteres Bezugsteil und bei dem anderen Bezugsteil sich um ein oberes Bezugsteil handelt, ist bei dem oberen Bezugsteil das Bodenteil auch als Oberteil angesprochen. Von Besonderheit bei dieser Matratze ist, dass die beiden Bezugsteile bezüglich der Seitenwände zum Einfassen des Matratzenkerns überlappend zueinander angeordnet sind. Damit befindet sich die Seitenwand des einen Bezugsteils bezüglich ihrer Höhe zumindest abschnittsweise, und zwar im Bereich des Überlapps innerhalb der Seitenwand des anderen Bezugsteils. In einer bevorzugten Ausgestaltung ist die Höhe der Seitenwände der beiden Bezugsteile gleich und entspricht der Höhe des darin aufzunehmenden Matratzenkerns. Ist die Höhe der Seitenwände der beiden Bezugsteile gleich, kann der Überlapp sich über die gesamte Höhe der Seitenwände erstrecken. Durchaus möglich ist auch eine Anordnung, bei der trotz gleicher Höhe der Seitenwände der Überlapp sich nicht über die gesamte Höhe der Seitenwände, sondern nur über einen Teil erstreckt, beispielsweise 50% oder mehr. Durch die vorbeschriebene Ausgestaltung ist jedes Bezugsteil nach Art einer einseitig offenen Schachtel ausgeführt. Das untere Bezugsteil verfügt somit über eine Matratzenkernaufnahme, in die der Matratzenkern eingelegt ist. Das andere Bezugsteil dient sodann zum Verschließen des den Matratzenkern aufnehmenden ersten Bezugsteils nach Art eines schachtelartigen Deckelteils. Infolge des Überlappens der umlaufenden Seitenwände können die beiden Bezugsteile im Bereich dieses Überlapps miteinander verbunden bzw. aneinander befestigt werden. Von daher können zur Verbindung der beiden Bezugsteile Verbindungsmittel eingesetzt werden, die beim Recyceln der Bezugsteile von diesen nicht zuvor entfernt werden müssen oder sich problemlos und rasch von diesen entfernen lassen. Als Verbindungsmittel können beispielsweise Flausch-Klett-Bänder eingesetzt werden, mithin Verbindungsmittel, die aus einem gleichen oder zumindest artverwandten Kunststoff hergestellt sind, wie typischerweise die Faser der Bezugsteile. Aufgrund der Stoffgleichheit gehören diese Bestandteile sodann in dieselbe Recyclingmaterialfraktion. Neben diesem Vorteil hat diese Matratze mit ihren beiden Bezugsteilen gegenüber Matratzen mit herkömmlichen Matratzenbezügen weitere ausschlaggebende Vorteile:

- Die Zweiteiligkeit bzw. Mehrteiligkeit erleichtert die Handhabung beim Beziehen des Matratzenkerns sowie beim Entfernen desselben von dem Matratzenkern.
- In aller Regel ist nur die Oberseite eines Matratzenbezuges reinigungsbedürftig. Bei dieser Matratze braucht zum Reinigen des oberen Bezugsteils die Matratze nicht bezüglich ihres Gewichtes gehandhabt zu werden. Das obere Bezugsteil kann ohne Weiteres von dem unteren Bezugsteil entfernt, gereinigt und anschließend wieder zum Vervollständigen des Matratzenbezuges mit dem unteren Bezugsteil verbunden werden, ohne dass hierfür das untere Bezugsteil mit dem Matratzenkern mit dem in aller Regel nicht unerheblichen Gewicht des Matratzenkerns bewegt insbesondere angehoben werden müsste.

- Problemlos kann das obere Bezugsteil einer ersten Auslegung durch ein anderes Bezugsteil einer zweiten Auslegung getauscht werden. Beim Auswechseln stellen sich dieselben Vorteile wie beim Reinigen des oberen Bezugsteils ein.
- Beide Bezugsteile können unterschiedliche Qualitäten hinsichtlich des Materials, des Komforts, der Farbe oder irgendeiner anderen Auslegung aufweisen.
- In dem unteren Bezugsteil kann nach Art eines Schachtelunterteils der Matratzenkern aufgenommen werden. Dies erlaubt eine individuelle Zusammenstellung des Matratzenkerns, vor allem wenn dieser aus einzelnen Matratzenkernstücken besteht, sei es, dass diese nebeneinanderliegen und/oder übereinanderliegen, um diesen an die individuellen Komfortbedürfnisse eines Nutzers anzupassen. Das Verschließen mit dem oberen Bezugsteil zum Vervollständigen des Matratzenbezuges und der Gesamtmatratze ist problemlos möglich, da die Matratzenkernteile in dem unteren Bezugsteil sicher gehalten sind.
- Der modulartige Aufbau dieser Matratze bzw. seines Matratzenbezuges erlaubt sowohl in Bezug auf die Auslegung des Matratzenkerns als auch in Bezug auf die Auslegung des Matratzenbezuges eine Anpassung an die individuellen Bedürfnisse, wobei das untere Bezugsteil ein für alle Zusammenstellungen einheitliches Bezugsteil sein kann.

Das Bezugsteil 4 ist, wie in 1 erkennbar, durch ein Bodenteil 6 und eine umlaufende Seitenwand 7 gebildet. Die umlaufende Seitenwand 7 ist an das Bodenteil 6 angeschlossen, entweder dadurch, dass die einzelnen Seitenwandabschnitte Teil des Bodenteils 6 sind und zur Ausbildung der umlaufenden Seitenwand 7 mit ihren Schmalseiten miteinander verbunden sind oder dass die umlaufende Seitenwand 7 ein zuvor gefertigter Ringkörper ist, der an den umlaufenden Rand des Bodenteils 6 angeschlossen, typischerweise mit diesem vernäht ist. Auf diese Weise ist, wie in 1 erkennbar, durch das Bezugsteil 4 ein schachtelartiges Bezugsunterteil bereitgestellt. Das Bezugsteil 3 ist genauso aufgebaut wie das Bezugsteil 4, wobei jedoch die Öffnung des schachtelartig aufgebauten oberen Bezugsteils nach unten weist. Das obere Bezugsteil 3 ist hinsichtlich seiner Breite und Länge so ausgeführt, dass seine umlaufende Seitenwand 8, wenn die beiden Bezugsteile 3, 4 zum vollständigen Einfassen des Matratzenkerns 5 miteinander in Eingriff gestellt sind (vgl. 2), die umlaufende Seitenwand 7 des unteren Bezugsteils 4 einfasst. Die beiden umlaufenden Seitenwände 7, 8 überlappen miteinander (siehe 3). Der Überlapp der beiden Seitenwände 7, 8, der bei dem dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel etwa 80% der Höhe einer Seitenwand 7 bzw. 8 beträgt, wird genutzt, um die zueinanderweisenden Seiten der Seitenwände 7, 8 miteinander lösbar zu verbinden. Bei dem dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel trägt zu diesem Zweck die umlaufende Seitenwand 7 des unteren Bezugsteils 4 mehrere Flauschbandabschnitte 9 an seiner Außenseite. An der nach innen weisenden Seite der umlaufenden Seitenwand 8 des oberen Bezugsteils 3 sind an entsprechender Stelle Klettbandabschnitte angeordnet. Sind die beiden Bezugsteile 3, 4 miteinander, wie in 2 und 3 dargestellt, in Eingriff gestellt, sind die Klettbandabschnitte mit den Flauschbandabschnitten 9 der umlaufenden Seitenwand 7 verkrallt und damit das obere Bezugsteil 3 mit dem unteren Bezugsteil 4 verbunden. Eine Handhabung dieser Matratze 1 ist damit ohne weiteres möglich, ohne dass hierbei die Gefahr besteht, dass die beiden Bezugsteile 3, 4 voneinander gelöst werden würden. Bei den Flauschbandabschnitten 9 und den Klettbandabschnitten handelt es sich um solche aus Polyester, mithin aus demselben Material, aus dem auch die beiden Bezugsteile 3, 4 gefertigt sind.
