Durch eine genaue Wunddokumentation lassen sich Verläufe, Fortschritte und Rückschläge von Wundbehandlungen und Wundentwicklungen sicher einschätzen und insbesondere Maßnahmen bzw. Therapien rechtzeitig einleiten. Weiter ist die Wunddokumentation eine haftungsrechtliche Absicherung, da durch den lückenlosen Durchführungsnachweis der Verlauf einer Erkrankung auch zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt genau nachvollzogen werden kann. Da die Wunddokumentation sowohl im ambulanten als auch im stationären Bereich erfolgen kann, ist es wünschenswert und Aufgabe der Erfindung, diese auf eine Art und Weise durchführen zu können, die insbesondere für das Personal eine einfache, schnelle und sichere Handhabung ermöglicht. Diese Aufgabe wird durch die Anwendung von Schablonen mit Maßskalen und Wundeingrenzungsmechanismen gelöst.
