The invention relates to a retrofittable window cover for tilt and turn windows, which prevents insects from entering the building interior when the window is open.

State of the art

Such window covers are known. First, there are solutions in which fly screens are used in additional frames, which are screwed to the window frame or in this or in the wall opening, in which the window is located, are trapped. These fly screens are placed on the outside of the window frame. Presentation of the invention

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a retrofittable window cover for protection against insects, which is a gauze made of textile material or the like. and can be used in the existing window frame, that only the window opening is completed by the window cover. It should be easy to install this window cover to protect against insects and not degrade the optical impression of the window with removed gauze. In addition, the exchange of gauze should be easily possible and associated with low costs.

 According to the invention this object is achieved by a retrofit window covering, which has in addition to the gauze on elongated clamping elements and terminals for receiving the clamping elements. The clamps are elongate and have in their longitudinal direction a preferably provided with a substantially round cross-section groove, wherein on an upper edge of the groove, a stiff lip is arranged, which covers a part of the groove. The elongated clamping elements are designed so that they can be inserted together with laid around the clamping elements around gauze in the terminals and thereby clamp the gauze in the terminal.

 It is possible that the terminals and the clamping elements made of a flexible plastic or the like. are made, so that an impressions of the clamping element in the groove is easily possible. However, it is also possible to use fixed clamping elements with soft clamps or vice versa. When choosing a hard plastic, it must be ensured that, with simultaneous use with fixed clamping elements, a sufficient bending elasticity of the clamp is ensured, so that the groove can easily be bent when inserting the clamping element.

The clamp may be arranged in a substantially triangular profile, that in a corner a chamber is used in the frame. But it can also be arranged on top of a flat bar, which is used parallel to the window front or perpendicular thereto in the chamber. The arrangement on a leg of an angle piece is conceivable, which then can also have openings for fixing the angle via small screws on the window frame.

 The lip attached to the upper edge of the groove not only prevents the clamping element from falling out. It also serves to release the gauze under load, e.g. by securing an item like a ball in the clamp. Without this lip, the clamping element could be torn out of the groove.

 Window frames today usually have larger chambers in the closing area of the windows. These chambers are mostly completed by rubber seals. Chambers have the advantage that the air contained therein serves insulation purposes. By creating chambers but also creates sufficient space to accommodate the invention, elongated terminals. The clamps can be glued over the full height and width of the frame. Bonding is preferable to screwing on, since it does not damage the frame and thus does not significantly affect the insulating properties. However, it is also conceivable to distribute shorter sections of the clamps uniformly over the height and width of the window without insects being able to crawl in. The clamping elements can also be used in several pieces or as a band. For reasons of better packaging, dispensing in short, solid strips to the end user is preferable.

 For installation, the clamps are glued into a chamber between the window frame and window sash, making sure that the lip on the groove points in the direction of the window opening. Then a gauze is prepared, which in its size corresponds approximately to the window opening, with a little overhang for better clamping of the gauze must be taken. The gauze is stopped with an edge along the clamps and secured against falling out by pressing the clamping elements into the clamps. Now adjacent sides and ultimately the first opposite side of the gauze or vice versa can also be clamped. To replace the gauze only the clamping elements must be removed and replaced after preparing the replacement gauze.
