The invention or the innovation relates to an adjustable holding device for a part of a cutlery (knife) for people with limited hand and finger function.

Holding devices of current design are generally under the expired utility model DE 8532087 described.

The o. G. Utility model and other commercially available holding devices of this type, but do not go sufficiently to the necessary flexible adjustability of the holder in the hand of the disabled person with limited hand and finger function.

Furthermore, a stable fixation of the cutlery is of great importance to be able to muster satisfactory forces with the cutlery.

• 1: Unterschiedlichste Komplettbesteckteile sind in den jeweiligen Aufnahmen der Haltevorrichtungen nicht starr miteinander verbunden und können dadurch nur geringere Kräfte übertragen.
• 2: Fehlende unterschiedliche Größen der Haltevorrichtungen für Erwachsene und Kinder sind nicht an die Anatomie der Person angepasst. Auf die notwendige Einstellbarkeit bei unterschiedlichen Handgrößen wird nicht genügend eingegangen. Somit kann keine sichere und stabile Befestigung an der Person erzielt werden.
• 3: Die Haltevorrichtungen haben eine kraftschlüssige Klemmung des Besteckteils und können somit nicht spielfrei und sicher aufgenommen werden.
• 4: Die Haltevorrichtungen sind nur bedingt spülmaschinenfest
• 5: Alleiniges Befestigen der Haltevorrichtungen durch die Person an der eigenen Hand, ist ab einem bestimmten Behinderungsgrad nicht möglich. (z. B. bei Riemen)

The following points are in my opinion for this the causes:

• 1: a variety of complete cutlery parts are not rigidly connected to each other in the respective receptacles of the holding devices and thus can transmit only lower forces.
• 2: Missing different sizes of adults and children holding devices are not adapted to the anatomy of the person. On the necessary adjustability for different hand sizes is not enough received. Thus, no secure and stable attachment to the person can be achieved.
• 3: The holding devices have a non-positive clamping of the cutlery part and thus can not be received without play and safely.
• 4: The holding devices are only conditionally dishwasher safe
• 5: Solely attaching the holding devices by the person to the own hand, is not possible from a certain degree of disability. (eg for belts)

The technical problems listed under 1 to 5, were solved with my complete construction of fixtures for different cutlery.

Below descriptions of the newly designed holders for cutlery in detail.

Type knife holding device adjustable (see also drawing):

The holding device consists of a receiving element (part 1 ), which receives the cutlery form-fitting and at the same time forms a surface for the hand-held.

Furthermore, from the bracket element (part 2 ), which with the possibility to move to part 1 can be set to the respective hand size.

The clamping plate (part 3 ) is bolted to the receiving element. The positive and non-positive connection ensures a secure hold for the knife.

On the clamping plate (part 3 ) can in a direct screwing knife / receiving element, (part 1 ) are waived. For design reasons, the part becomes 3 but screwed on.

At the part 1 and at the part 2 eyelets or appropriate attachment options are attached to which the strap / Velcro fastener can be attached.

General advantages of the newly designed holding devices:

• - By this type of retainer design, the cutlery (knife) has a secure hold in the fixture and a secure hold at hand.
• - Very hygienic, since the holder with the cutlery is dishwasher safe. (without Velcro)
• - Due to the open bracket on the holding devices, this can be easily fixed to the hand.
• - An additional (belt / Velcro) prevents you from slipping out of the hand holder.
• - By appropriate materials, the holding device is very light in weight.
