1. Preliminary remarks:

2. Description:

a) personal goal

The objective was to design a flexible modular installation for vehicles that, in addition to the standard use (as a car or van) either use:
Office mobile - with a mobile workplace for craftsmen, freelancers or other self-employed to create, which can be completed with laptop, printer, scanner, copier and mobile Internet connection and also offers a place to stay on business trips,
or for weekend trips in one
Weekendcamper - can be transformed with a stable sleeping area of about 2.0 x 1.20 m for 2 people.

This installation is intended to:

• • as fast as possible in a few minutes
• • with little tools (if possible only a screwdriver) to install or remove. The construction should also be stowed in the dismantled state to save space in the basement or the garage.

b) Technical implementation

The basic idea for the implementation was the creation of 6 small individual modules, which are connected with each other. These are U-shaped (see overview drawing) arranged in the rear of the vehicle and mounted on a common base plate (protection claim 2).

The base plate itself is bolted to the 4 standard in the vehicle anchoring points (originally intended for 4 lashing eyes) with the bottom plate of the vehicle body.

The modules are then individually bolted to the base plate and additionally interconnected. Thus, the basic stability is achieved without additional anchorage to the body or damage to the standard vehicle panels in the interior (protection claim 3).

Due to the U-shaped arrangement of the individual modules, a connection for the required electric cables or water and sewer pipes is always ensured within each individual module. Thus, no cables or wires are disturbing outside the modules. The connections of the electric cable between the individual modules even by means of plug-in connection, so that all modules can be mounted or dismounted individually (without expensive "cable salad") (protection claim 4).

Description of the individual modules

All individual cubes described below are given as length · width · height in cm.

The modules consist of 10 mm thick poplar plywood and are joined together by means of dowel and adhesive joints. Each individual module thus has floor, walls and lid. It is thus closed on all sides.

module 1 - Electric module (dimensions 54 · 20 · 54 cm)

As already stated, these 6 basic modules are arranged in a U-shape in the rear region of the vehicle and can remain completely installed during everyday use as a 5-seater car and even "disappear" under the standard roller blind cover of the boot. At the same time, all module installations (electrical / water / wastewater / cooling and the storage compartments) can be used for everyday use (protection claim 5).

folding module 7 (Dimensions 86 · 59 · 10 cm, folded state)

The folding module 7 consists of its combination of 1 cm thick poplar plywood with 1.5 cm multiplex panels and is described in detail in detail drawing no. Z6.

The attachment of the folding module via a special Auflagerrähm 7.1 (Protection claim 7), which on the free end faces of the modules 1 and 6 by means of two screw connections is non-positively connected. The structural design of Auflagerrähms is shown on a detailed drawing. By further 2 screw connections between folding module 7 and the Auflagerrähm 7.1 the overall stability of the construction is achieved.

The sleeping level is completed by 3 equally sized inserts ( 8.1 - 8.3 ) of poplar plywood measuring 54 x 26.6 x 1 cm with a grip slot filling the remaining cavity in the plane of the surface of the single module. The space underneath can be used as storage space for further accessories. Thus, a stable sleeping level in the vehicle with dimensions of approx. 2.0 x 1.20 m (exact size 1.98 x 1.18 m) is produced. The rear seats in the vehicle do not need to be removed. Only the back of the back row of seats are folded. The overall construction was designed so that even in the unfolded state of the module 7 and thus while maintaining the entire sleeping level, the driving ability of the vehicle with 2 persons remains unrestricted (protection claim no. 8).
