Eine vorteilhafte Ausbildung der Erfindung besteht darin, dass der außen liegende Schwenkantrieb für den Spindelträger ein Riemengetriebe umfasst. Die Kupplung erfolgt formschlüssig, beispielsweise über Hirthringe oder spezielle Formelemente, und vorteilhaft automatisiert mittels hydraulischer oder hydromechanischer Spannelemente. Eine manuelle Befestigung über Schraubverbindungen oder dgl. ist ebenfalls möglich. Die Verschwenkung des Fräskopfes um die Fräsbalkenlängsachse kann stufenlos in jedem beliebigen Winkel erfolgen, ebenso die Verschwenkung des Spindelträgers um die Fräskopfachse.
