Das erste Rückenteil und das zweite Rückenteil sind dabei über einen Schwenkmechanismus miteinander verbunden, der hier als Hubmechanismus ausgebildet ist. In einem unteren Bereich des ersten Rückenteils ist eine Lordosestütze vorgesehen. Das zweite Rückenteil ist mittels des Hubmechanismus in eine angehobene, die Rückenanlehnfläche vergrößernde Position bewegbar, wobei die Lordosestütze freigegeben ist. Der Verbindungsmechanismus ist in besonders bevorzugter Ausgestaltung als Steckverbindung ausgebildet. Das Multifunktionssofa weist insbesondere entlang einer Längsseite einen Schlitz als Aufnahme für das Steckelement oder für die Steckelemente auf.
