To point 1:

The custom-made and custom-made cross support corsets have been part of the orthopedic-conservative treatment for a long time.
(Please refer U.S. Patent 2,680,848 or G 91041821 )

They consist of 6-12 individual panels or elastic material.

In the inner back area is a so-called Rückenpelotte ( 3 ) made of leather or plastic for supporting the lumbar spine.

At the back there are sewn-on cloth bags that hold 2-4 steel or aluminum bars.

The sides are sewn at the seams into corresponding pockets 3-6 plastic rods to prevent collapse of the bodice.

To point 2:

The front is the closure.

There are different types of closure:
Velcro closure with roller deflection
Hook and eye closures
Hooks, eyes and zippers
Each additionally with lace adjustments

To point 3:

The usual back pads are made of leather or plastic (3-5 mm thick), there is a 5 mm felt layer (or poster material) glued.

It has the shape of a rounded diamond (Fig 3 ).

The pad is covered with fabric and fastened with velcro in the inner back area.

Thus, the supporting bodice in the dorsal region has a thickness of 1 cm or more.

To point 4:

The problem with the restorations is that the aid is too thick overall and too complex to apply. The care is just as problematic (Rückenpelotten).

The compliance (acceptance) of the patient does not go so far (according to our experience) that the clothes are extended by 2 cm or unfashionable, further clothing is worn.

The closures are complicated, thick and immovable, so that bruises on the top and bottom can arise.

In addition, the Rückenpelotte acts with its pressure in the lordosis (hollow back) against the proprioception.

To point 5:

The closure (Fig. 1 -Fig. 4 ) must be simpler and thinner, the material as thin as possible and appealing, the back pad in thin material.

5.1.

The closure consists of 6 cm wide superimposed velcro fastener, which is adjusted by 2 gripping tabs in front of a mirror, after the required pressure, infinitely variable. (Fig. 1 -Fig. 6 )

The pressure varies by the personal feeling of acceptance.

When attaching, make sure that the upper and lower edges of the parts to be closed are placed congruently. (Picture of the lock)

The whole closure with gripping tabs is max. 4 mm thick.

5.2. Back pad

3-mm Molton Back Pad, which is covered with cloth and serves as padding for the back bars.

It is firmly sewn and is waterproof.

5.3. material

I use Jaquard fabric with 1 mm thickness, which has tensile strength and restoring force of Drell.

The silk flower pattern enhances the friendly, non-medical appearance.

5.4. Processing and effect

Difference to the previous processing:
Body part with closure are worked as flat as possible and not formed around the body.

The back strength is not molded deep into the lordosis.

In contrast to the usual mode of action, the body part should build pressure on the abdominal wall. It is taken up by the sensory nerves of the abdominal wall and passed on to the corresponding brain center.

This leads to the metaphorical effect of the "belly in, chest out", which causes the patient to straighten up to the cervical spine.

The wearing period is limited to max. 5 hours limited, otherwise there is a habituation effect on the abdominal wall, which abolishes the proprioception.

The back bars are not deeply formed in the lordosis, so that the lumbar spine can lift itself up from the lordosis.

This is in line with a new philosophy of tailoring custom cross support garments that increase comfort in lightweight and breathable materials while helping to actively erect the spine.

Since the cross support corset is custom made to measure, there are no fixed dimensions for the items.
