Solution:

This is accomplished by using a film made from bi-directional, water-vapor permeable and natural bio-based plastic based on starch which has the property of vapor permeability, ie breathability, and is decomposable.

This film is worn as a supplement to existing garments. Here's the example of a sock made of foil, which is worn over the existing textile sock. Said film sock prevents wetting of the existing textile sock and, moreover, prevents the wind which is produced, for example, during cycling. Thus, the warming effect of the already existing textile sock is maintained and is even improved. If you step into a puddle, for example, water will not penetrate as far as the edge of the entrance. The pictured foil sock can be easily executed in oversize, since the material used is so and thin that even a bellows-like layering does not lead to comfort problems.
