Abstract

A computer carrying case has a trough-shaped base part (1) and a trough-shaped covering part (2), in which both parts (1,2) are removable. The cover part has in its inner face, at least one erectable device (4) for standing the covering part above the ground. The device (4) specifically consists of two tubular elements (5,6) which are hinge-mounted and can be swiveled out in the inner face of the cover part, in its corner region (7).

Description

Computer case

The invention relates to a computer case with a substantially tub-shaped base part and a similarly designed lid part according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such computer cases are used in particular by maintenance services and are used, for example, by telecommunications technicians to maintain and service telephone systems. In general, however, these cases can be used universally and serve any purpose where a computer and the corresponding peripheral devices have to be transported and used on site. For this purpose, these computer cases have a base section which has holding devices for holding a computer, usually a laptop or notebook computer, and other computer peripheral devices, such as a printer, a card reader, a scanner, including the power supply for these devices. This arrangement is located in the base section of the computer case, which is usually made of plastic or aluminum. The lid section of the computer, which is of the same or similar design, can be folded up from the base section using hinges and can also be removed completely.

Known computer cases of this type have the disadvantage that they cannot be put down anywhere, especially on construction sites. The telecommunications technician or, more generally, the person who has to work with the computer on site must therefore place the base of the computer case on the often dirty construction site floor and kneel, sit or squat in front of the base to work with the computer. This is not only uncomfortable, but also harmful to health, especially in the cold season. In addition, both the computer case and its user become dirty.

The task is therefore to further develop a computer case in such a way that the user can operate the computer and peripheral devices contained therein comfortably, safely and without getting dirty or endangering his health, even on construction sites.

This object is achieved with the characterizing features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments can be found in the subclaims.

An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings, which show:

The computer case shown in the figures has a base part (1) and a cover part (2). Both parts have a shell made of aluminum. Both shells are essentially tub-shaped. The cover part (2) has a fold-out handle (10) on one of its sides. The base part (1) and cover part (2) can be lined or padded on the inside. In addition, the base part (1), as shown in Figure 2, has holders (9) for a computer, a printer and/or other peripheral devices. A power supply unit, a radio modem or other components necessary for operating the computer can also be located below these holders (9). The computer case can also have compartments for accessories such as cables, etc.

The cover part (2) can be connected to the base part (1) via hinges (not shown) which are arranged at the end of the cover part (2) opposite the handle (10) and at a corresponding point on the base part (1). The cover part (2) can be swung up relative to the base part (1) and also removed from it via these hinges.

After removing the cover part (2) from the base part (1), support devices (4) can be folded out from the inside (3) of the cover part (2), for example the tube elements (5 and 6) shown in Figure (1), which are rotatably mounted on hinges (11) and (12) in the edge area of the cover part (2). Each tube element (5) is U-shaped in the illustrated embodiment, with the open ends being rotatably mounted on the hinges (11) and (12). Base part (1) the two pipe elements (5) and (6), which previously lay flat in the cover part (2), are pivoted downwards by 90°. Preferably the two pipe elements (5) and (6) are pivoted out by an angle that slightly exceeds 90°, so that the cover part (2) can stand stably on the floor.

After the cover part (2) has been set up at a distance from the floor in this way, the floor part (1) can be placed on the cover part (2), as shown in Figure (2). For this purpose, both the outside (8) of the cover part (2) and the outside of the floor part (1) are at least partially complementary, i.e. interlocking, so that the floor part (1) can rest at least partially in a form-fitting manner on the outside (8) of the cover part (2). In order to prevent the floor part (1) from slipping down, both the outside (8) of the cover part (2) and the outside of the floor part (1) can be provided with a non-slip coating, for example a foam rubber pad.

The computer case according to the invention enables the user to work at a comfortable working height, since the tubular elements (4) and (5) are at least 50 cm high. And the height of the lid part (2) and the base part (1) are added to this. It is therefore no longer necessary to kneel or sit on the floor in front of the computer, but one can work on the computer and peripheral devices in a slightly bent position or at least kneeling with only one knee, in any case with an upright upper body. Furthermore, neither the user nor the computer case itself will be soiled by laying it on the floor of a construction site.

Claims (7)

1. Computer case with a substantially tub-shaped base part ( 1 ) and a substantially tub-shaped cover part ( 2 ), the cover part ( 2 ) being removable from the base part ( 1 ), characterized in that the cover part ( 2 ) has on its inner side ( 3 ) at least one extendable stand device ( 4 ) for setting up the cover part ( 2 ) at a distance from a base at a distance from this base. 2. Computer case according to claim 1, characterized in that the stand device ( 4 ) has two tubular elements ( 5 , 6 ), which are each articulated in the inner side ( 3 ) of the cover part ( 2 ) in the region of its corners ( 7 ) and can be pivoted out. 3. Computer case according to claim 1, characterized in that the stand device has at least three telescopes attached to the inside of the lid part. 4. Computer case according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the outer side ( 8 ) of the lid part ( 2 ) and the outer side of the base part ( 1 ) are at least partially complementary, so that the base part ( 1 ) can be placed partially in a form-fitting manner on the outer side ( 8 ) of the lid part ( 2 ). 5. Computer case according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the outside of the base part ( 1 ) and/or the lid part ( 2 ) is at least partially provided with an anti-slip coating, for example a foam rubber pad. 6. Computer case according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the base part ( 1 ) and/or the cover part ( 2 ) consist of light metal, in particular aluminum. 7. Computer case according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the base part ( 1 ) has receiving devices ( 9 ) for a computer and/or a printer and/or other computer peripheral devices.
