1. Technisches Gebiet:1. Technical area:
The present invention relates to a safety device for a handgun, characterized in that the handgun is connected to a belt fastening mechanism by a limitedly flexible rope and is thereby secured against falling down and theft.
2. Stand der Technik:2. State of the art:
Handguns are usually only secured against falling down and theft by holsters attached to the body, i.e. only when the handgun is not being used but is simply being transported so that it is ready to hand in case of an emergency. However, there is no suitable security in case of an emergency. Here, the user usually holds the handgun in his hand or hands after pulling it out of the holster so that he can use it immediately if necessary. In police operations in particular, this can have the fatal consequence that the user, usually the police officer, loses the handgun, for example in a scuffle, while running or climbing. In such a case, there is a risk that he will not be able to find or pick up the handgun quickly enough, and in particular that a third party, e.g. a criminal, will be able to find and grab the handgun more quickly and use it against the police officer. But even if the user is holding the handgun in his hands, it can still be snatched away from him by a third party. Some people try to create a safety feature by attaching the handgun to a belt or clothing using a chain. The disadvantage of this solution is that a chain can easily get caught or hang down in a nuisance when the weapon is not in use.

According to the invention, the object is achieved in that - as shown in Fig. 1 to 5 - the handle 9 of a handgun 10 is connected to a tear-resistant rope 4, the other end of which is attached to a safety mechanism 1 connected to the belt, consisting of a housing 2 with a spiral spring 7 and coil 8 located therein. Such spring coils with housing and rope are known from other applications, for example for attaching cash register keys or code cards for waiters or for securing mobile phones against falling down and theft. The coil housings used there, however, are only provided with a clip that is attached to belts or items of clothing by simply clamping it on. The coil housing 2 according to the invention is characterized, however, in that it is firmly connected, by means of an axis 5, in an axially rotatable manner to a loop 3, preferably made of metal, through which the belt 11 must be pulled before it is fastened. The spool housing 2 cannot therefore simply be torn off or come loose from the belt in any other way, as is the case with clip fastening. The axial rotatability of the housing 2 also ensures that the cable guide 6 always points in the direction of cable pull, thus reducing friction on the cable 4 and thus wear on the cable. The cable 4 is preferably designed as a plastic or steel cable that can withstand a tensile force of at least 50 kg. The strength of the spiral spring 7 running inside the spool 8 is preferably designed such that the cable 4 is under tension in every phase without affecting the operation of the handgun 10. The length of the cable 4 is preferably limited to the length required to ensure free operation of the handgun 10, i.e. even in the case where the arms holding the handgun are stretched out vertically upwards. This is ensured by a maximum cable length of 2 meters. This length limitation prevents the handgun from moving too far away from the user when it falls and - due to the spring-induced rope tension - hitting the ground too hard, thereby damaging the handgun or causing a shot to be fired unintentionally.
Das Seil 4 wird mitWhen using the present invention, the belt 11 of the user 12 is first pulled through the loop 3 and closed. The rope 4 is

The handgun 10 is then placed in the holster 13. The rope 4 is now wound up in the safety mechanism 1 and is under slight tension due to the spiral spring. In the event of use, the user 12 pulls the handgun 10 out of the holster 13 and raises it into the firing position. The rope guide 6 now points towards the handgun 10 due to the rotatability of the housing 2. The rope 4 is again under tension. After the handgun has been used, it is placed back in the holster 13.
