Claims

1. Sock, in particular sports or hiking socks, consisting of a basic knitted fabric made from at least one base yarn ( 6 ), into which at least one functional yarn ( 8 ) and/or at least one reinforcing yarn ( 11 ) is incorporated at least in some areas, wherein air channels ( 50 , 80 ) are formed in functional or reinforcing areas ( 7 , 10 ) containing functional yarn or reinforcing yarn, which are formed by stitches of the basic knitted fabric which are not knitted with the functional or reinforcing yarn ( 8 , 11 ).

13. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the base yarn ( 6 ) contains a textured polyamide yarn and/or an elastane yarn optionally wound with at least one polyamide thread.

14. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the functional yarn ( 8 ) has a high moisture transport capacity.

15. Sock according to claim 14, characterized in that the functional yarn ( 8 ) contains polyester and/or polypropylene fibers or filaments.

16. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the reinforcing yarn ( 11 ) consists of a moisture-absorbing material.

17. Sock according to claim 16, characterized in that the reinforcing yarn ( 11 ) contains wool and/or cotton and/or acrylic, polyamide, polyester fibers or filaments.

18. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the functional and/or reinforcing yarn ( 8 , 11 ) lies loose in the region of the air channels ( 50 , 80 ).

19. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it has zones ( 13 ) of increased compressibility incorporated into the functional and/or reinforcing regions ( 7 , 10 ) containing the functional or reinforcing yarn ( 8 , 11 ), which are free of air channels ( 50 , 80 ).

20. Sock according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the reinforcing yarn ( 11 ) is at least partially processed to form plush loops.
