Claims

1. A stand for at least one elongated musical instrument having a narrow and a wide end region, the stand comprising:

- a base for placing the stand on a substantially horizontal surface;

- a central part which is elongated and substantially vertically aligned;

- at least one support device provided for supporting the wide end portion of the musical instrument; and

- at least one fork associated with the support device and intended to receive the narrow end region of the musical instrument;

characterized in that the fork ( 16 ) comprises a rigid locking element ( 18 ).

2. Stand according to claim 1, characterized in that the locking element ( 18 ) is held in a closed state by a restoring force.

3. Stand according to claim 2, characterized in that the restoring force is provided by a spring.

4. Stand according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the locking element ( 18 ) is coupled to the fork ( 16 ) by means of a hinge joint ( 22 ).
