Adjustable furniture transport roller

Furniture transport rollers are often used to transport heavy goods, for example when moving house. Common furniture transport rollers consist of a base plate with four swiveling rollers attached to the underside.

When transporting larger pieces of furniture, it is often necessary to place two of these furniture rollers underneath. If the floor is uneven (door thresholds, etc.), the rollers often slip under the piece of furniture and damage it. Tables must be placed on their side or on the table top in order to be transported safely. This also requires special security for any drawers present.

This problem is solved by the protection claims 1, 2, 3 and 4.

When using two adjustable furniture transport rollers, it is possible to place the piece of furniture in an upright position with the furniture feet in the recesses in the base plates (6) so that a base plate with swiveling rollers (4) is placed under each furniture foot. For this purpose, the width of the furniture transport roller can be adjusted to the exact distance between the furniture feet using the adjusting screw (1) and the inner and outer guide rails, so that the furniture remains securely in the table leg fixers (3) even on uneven floors due to the weight of the furniture.

With this type of transport, the rollers are also conveniently located at the corners of the object to be transported, so you are not forced to work under the load to guide the rollers over a doorstep, for example.

Even for loads without furniture feet, the furniture transport roller can be largely adjusted to the width of the goods being transported by simply opening and closing the adjustment screw, which fixes the inner guide rail (2.a) in the outer guide rail (2.b). The non-slip rubber mats (5) on the top of the furniture transport roller ensure secure positioning under the piece of furniture. The rubber mats on the base plates also prevent scratches on the furniture surface.

Instead of a particularly large and heavy transport trolley of conventional design, it is possible to use two small, adjustable furniture trolleys, which can both be easily transported by one person when unloaded.

Claims (4)

1. For the transport of bulky furniture, preferably tables, comprising:
A guide rail (2.a and 2.b) is attached to each of the two base plates ( 6 ), whereby the inner guide rail (2.a.) is fixed in the outer guide rail (2.b) by means of a lockable adjusting screw ( 1 ) and is therefore infinitely adjustable in length. 2.
