Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a rotating or otherwise movable brush or clamped Thread, which are suitable due to their special shape and size, plaques on teeth, preferably on and in the interdental spaces. As is well known, leads the formation of plaques in the long run leading to gingivitis and subsequently to the dreaded periodontosis, a solution of the gums from the tooth, a pocket Formation and finally causes the jawbone to shrink so that the teeth loosen and fail completely later. To prevent this, it must be ensured that the formation of plaques is prevented.
The common toothbrushes, whether hand-guided or motor-driven, ha ben the disadvantage that they clean the surface of the teeth thoroughly, but due their size and shape do not extend sufficiently into the interdental spaces. Like this however, long plaques can form in the gaps, despite being more thorough Cleaning the tooth surfaces the preventive effect against periodontosis only very inadequate.
A device for cleaning interdental spaces is known, in which a thread, which is provided with brush bristles at its end, is set in rotation. So that the brush bristles are not damaged, the thread is guided in a curved tube, the mouth of which is pressed exactly into the space between the teeth at the base of the gums. Then the thread is set in rotation and at the same time advanced a few millimeters into the space. The brush threads at the end are spread out by centrifugal forces and are intended to clean the interdental space. This arrangement has the following disadvantages:
The exact finding of the gap between the teeth and the gums requires some skill, because otherwise the thread breaks easily.
The interdental space is only incompletely cleaned because of breakage danger of moving the rotating thread back and forth is prohibited.
The force exerted by the brush bristles on the teeth is too weak to to achieve an effective cleaning, because the bristles only by very weak Centrifugal forces are driven apart.
Since the thread is pulled back into the tube after the cleaning process, it itself cannot be cleaned and also remains in a moist environment, so that it does not dry out and therefore has to be repeated for hygienic reasons Use of the pipe attachment is prohibited.
It is not possible to use it on tight teeth, because then the thread breaks off. In the case of other gaps, however, the cleaning effect is low because it is so good as there is no friction between the thread and the tooth surface.
The interdental brush described in this application does not have these disadvantages, in particular it has the following properties:
Due to the special arrangement, shape and size of the bristles they find their way into the interdental spaces without any special ge dexterity would be necessary because the rotation causes self-centering the bristles take place in the interdental space.
The interdental space is cleaned optimally because - depending on the manual used lem pressure - fewer or more bristles are pressed into the interdental space, so that a complete removal of the plaques is guaranteed. The bristles must be adapted in length to the width of the interdental space so that they pass through can pass through the entire interdental space. That under certain circumstances Part of the bristles is bent outwards during rotation, in particular the outside area is not a disadvantage, because it also means the immediate reverse between the teeth is cleaned. It is also more appropriate Stiffness of the bristles also cleaning gum pockets already formed possible (in which food residues and bacteria are known to accumulate).
The bristles can be moved back and forth while rotating, without damage to take, so that the wider environment is cleaned.
The bristles adapt to a wide variety of teeth: larger gaps become cleaned in that the bristles are led deeper into the tooth gaps are only in contact with the longer central bristles while narrower gaps come.
To minimize gum injury, the centric bristles should be be stronger (stiffer or thicker) than the peripheral ones for cleaning care for the environment and massage the gums.
Since it makes sense to close the interdental brush along the teeth move, but on the other hand the mouth is relatively dark proposed to attach a lamp to the top of the handle, which the The area of the teeth in which the brush is located is illuminated and that only lights up when the brush is in motion.
Bild 7).In principle, the arrangement (see Fig . 1) consists of a rotating or otherwise movable disk (A) (bristle holder), which has a tuft of central bristles (C 1 ) and a peripheral ring of eccentric tufts (C 2 ) of bristles, whereby the maximum length (c) of the maximum depth (t) of interdental spaces in the horizontal direction (see Fig . 5), and the diameter (a) of the disc (between the peripheral tufts) approximately the distance (s) of the leading edges corresponds to two adjacent teeth (see Fig . 5), so that the bristle tufts are self-centering in the space between the teeth. For better guidance of the bristles in the interdental space, a chamfering of the bristles is provided in such a way that the bristles increase in length from the outside to the inside. Those bristles that do not fit through in narrow spaces bend partially and thus serve to clean the immediate area around the teeth (see Fig . 4). Another embodiment is shown in Figure 1a, where the bristle carrier (A) is hemispherical for better adaptation to the bit. The bristle carrier (A) is driven in a known manner along the axis of rotation (D) with an electric motor which is contained in the handle (H) (see Figure 7).
In order to be able to guide the rotating bristles more effectively into the interdental space, a bristle arrangement according to. Figure 2 provided, in which the outer bristle ring (C 2 ) is directed obliquely inwards (against the axis of rotation) (see also Figure 5) and in which the bristles are also beveled.
The further embodiment in accordance with Figure 3 illustrates the present invention a combination of an ordinary known rotating brush and the Zahnzwi invention's room brush is by in accordance with Figure 4 and 4a, a centric tufts of concentric tapered bristles according to the depth of the tooth space extended from the other bristles protrude, so that a simultaneous cleaning of the entire tooth surface (Z) and the interdental space is effected (see Fig . 6). According to the invention, the rigidity of which is arranged on the circumference of the bristles is dimensioned (C 2) so that they easily bend and so on rotation in the gingival pockets (ZT) eindrin gene (Figure 4a) and cleaning them, while the centrally arranged bristles (C 1 ) are somewhat stiffer and therefore penetrate into the interdental spaces. Another embodiment of the invention is shown in Figure 5a. Experience has shown that the central bristles (C 1 ) find the way into the interdental spaces and the gum pockets more easily if the bristle carrier (A) is manually set in a slightly circular motion using the holder (H). On the other hand, since the brushing is perceived by most people to be a troublesome work, which is therefore often more or less carried out thoughtlessly, is shown in figure 5a (proportions for the Ver deutlichung exaggerated) is provided, the bristle carrier (A 2) eccentrically to the axis of rotation (D ) to be arranged so that it rotates not only about the axis (d) but also eccentrically around the axis (D), which increases the penetration effect of the bristles in the interdental spaces and tooth pockets. This can e.g. B. be realized that the bristle carrier (A 2 ) according to Figure 5a is rolled by the friction on the wall of the guide R at the point (P) as soon as the driver (A 1 ) is set in rotation, if necessary also via a toothed drive.
Figure 7 shows an arrangement in which, according to the invention, the handle (H) is equipped at its upper end with a lamp (L) which allows the area of the teeth to be cleaned to be illuminated, because the interior of the mouth is relatively dark and the usual bathroom lighting is capable not shining enough into it to ensure the targeted work necessary for cleaning the interdental spaces.
Figure 1b shows an embodiment in which the bristle carrier (A) is spherical and is connected to the drive motor via a flexible shaft (W), so that the bristle carrier (A) can move within certain limits in three dimensions and so can adapt even better to the respective dentition shapes.
Figure 1c shows an arrangement in which the bristle carrier (A) is a cavity that can be filled with suitable, preferably anti-plaque toothpaste, which emerges through the openings (o) as a result of the centrifugal force and for constant wetting of the material to be cleaned Ensures tooth area with paste. The size of the openings must be chosen depending on the viscosity of the paste. The cavity can be filled from a tube, the opening of which is provided with an appropriately dimensioned hollow needle.
Another embodiment show the images 8a and 8b. In Figure 8a it is shown how on the handle (H) instead of a holder (K) two opposing holders (K 1 ) and (K 2 ) are attached, each with a rotating or otherwise movable microbrush, the bristles of both sides in the interdental spaces led who who, for example, is caused by the fact that the brackets (K) are each held by a biegsa me shaft (BW), or that the brackets (K) themselves are elastically deformable. Because of the already existing elastic flexibility of the bristles (C), the elastic deformability of the holders (K) or the flexible shaft (BW) can, however, be kept within narrow limits. In a further modification of this idea, Figure 8b shows how the rotational movement is transmitted to the bristle holder via a flexible shaft (FW).
Instead of using a microbrush, the interdental spaces can also be moved using a ten thread and cleaned of plaques. With narrow teeth this is Diffusing the thread by hand between the teeth with difficulty bound. It also requires some skill, the thread in the interdental spaces to ensure that effective cleaning is achieved. These disadvantages are compounded by the resolved the following embodiment of the invention.
The implementation is illustrated in Figures 9, 9a, 9b and 10. The thread (F), preferably consisting of a resistant, possibly roughened thread made of plastic or another suitable material, is stretched between the prongs of a fork (G) ( Fig. 9a). By rotating the fork (G) back and forth over the fork carriage (K) by means of a shaft (W) on the axis of rotation (D) by means of a drive unit located in the handle (H), the thread (F) is made into an oscillating movement Figure 9b offset. Through this rapid movement, the thread (F) finds its way through the tooth gap, so that a slight manual movement of the fork (G) up and down with the thread (F) cleans the interdental spaces that cannot be achieved by ordinary toothbrushes become.
A modification of this device can be seen in Figure 10. Instead of a rotary movement, the thread (F) is moved up and down here. The advantage over the rotary movement is the technically less complex implementation by means of a simple, electromagnet-operated electromagnet in the form of two coils (S). The simultaneous up and down and back and forth movement of the thread would be optimal. According to the invention, this is achieved by four cross-over coils (see Fig . 10, view from above), which are fed with alternating current, which alternately applies one and the other pair of opposing coils with a current that is 90 ° out of phase, which is achieved by an electronic circuit in a known manner.
